I went to Weary last Friday (I bet your all real suprised) Nothing really to report back. Except we almost hit a deer on our way back AGAIN. That's over 20% of the time if I was keeping track. I can't wait until the leaves are back, it really adds a lot to the experience. It will be exciting once the corn is back too. Right now its all rather bare but at least the snow is gone...

OMG!!! This just in. Some dude that lives on the old Weary property is blogging on Youtube. He said he lives in the old green house. That's the Wearys'. I can't wait to try to find out more. He said he didn't even know about Weary until after he moved there and that when people told him about it, it explained a lot of weird things that were happening. I'm so excited, what a big break in the case, LOL...

what about the story of Fitzsimmons Road in Oak Creek???
Fitzsimmons Road was used for drag races and such back in the day. People went off the cliff at the end of the road and haunt it. The end is blocked off now, but you still get the vibe that something does not want people there.

Oak Creek Road (just south of Fitzsimmons Rd) is supposed to be the same way (according to the MAPI website www.milwaukeeparanormal.com/Haunted-Places-In-Milwaukee.html). Love to check out both roads, some time.

OOOOOO!!! Thanks for the story, I love it. I had never heard of the roads and did not know about about the cliffs either. I am going to start a new thread to generate some discussion on this all.

Fitzsimmons Road and E Oakwood Road arent even open any more (for the last mile or so before Lake Michigan). Check out the other thread I started. You can't even drive on the part of the road in the picture, they have it blocked off with all sorts of cement barricades.

We went to the Weary family plot in Evansville on Monday and we stopped at Weary Rd. This year there is only corn on one side of the road down by the bridge. If anyone decides to go you should bring bug spray. It was the sunny in the middle of the day and we got swarmed by mosquitoes without even stepping off the blacktop.

During the day of October 24, 2009, a group of 6 people travelled to Weary Road in Evansville, WI. We were there to investigate a couple of legends associated with this road. For myself, as a member of this group, my goal is to explain experiences and evidence. I, myself, am not trying to prove (although it would be great if we could), disprove or ‘debunk’ any paranormal activity. My only goal is to provide information to allow others to make up their own minds.
Normally, when I go to a sight that has reported haunting and oddities, I ask myself “why is this place haunted?” When we left for Weary Road it was no different. I asked myself “why is Weary Road haunted?”
The road itself is just a very peaceful country road, dotted with a few farmhouses. Cornfields surround the majority of the road, with a small exception of a forest stand on the western portion of the road. This forest stand appears to be an old forest as it is very overgrown with many fallen older trees on its floor.
First I read about the reported paranormal happenings on this road:
1. Phantom motorcycles, cars and trains have been witnessed by some: There are Chicago-Northwestern train tracks on the northwest portion of the road. If there was a phantom train, it wasn’t there when we were. There wasn’t much traffic on the road when we were there, however there was still some. There are also homes on this road, so traffic would be expected. Also, with the reputation Weary Road has, I imagine that some of the traffic on the road may also be curiosity seekers like ourselves.
2. Dark figures walking across the road and following people and small creatures (Imps) living in the trees: I put these two together because I think they’re similar. There was no activity like this when we were there. It is, however, important to note that with all the cornfields, hedgerows and the forest stand on this road there is a lot of animal life present here.
3. Green glow near the bridge: None in our group witnessed any green glows near the bridge. But, there is also nothing physical there that would cause a green glow, so if someone does see a green glow at the bridge they may want to investigate it further.
4. Screams and inhuman sounds: Obviously I can’t say that this is what others were hearing when they were there, but we heard a lot of screeching birds in the forest stand while we were there.
5. Scratches on bodies: No one in our group experienced scratches on their body.
6. Mr. Weary appears in your rear view mirror: He didn’t appear to any of us this day.
7. If you stop on the bridge and turn your car off, it won’t restart: A couple of us did this and both of our cars started right back up. Both cars are still working fine.
8. Ghostly girl in the woods: We actually went a really good distance into the woods, until one of our members noticed a no trespassing sign (there are posted signs up around the area saying that it is private property but open to public fishing and hunting. There is even a posted parking area near the bridge). We didn’t witness any ghostly girl. There were a lot of pictures taken in these woods and no anomalies were visible in them. The forest stand is not a very large one and it is surrounded by cornfields.
Next come the legends of why this road may be haunted:
1. One is that a kid was car surfing (standing on the roof of the car while someone was driving down the road) and they fell off the vehicle at the bridge and died. There is no record of this happening. There are also no records of vehicular deaths on this road.
2. Another story says that a kid hung himself off the bridge. There is no record of a hanging from this bridge. Personally, I think it may be difficult because it is a short distance (of course I forgot to bring a method of measuring this) from the bottom of the bridge to the creek below it. I could be wrong though. The bridge itself is nondescript. It goes over irrigation ditches from the fields. There are a lot of satanic graffiti on the bridge and the road near it (ie. Redrum, pentagram, 666, and others) as well as some graffiti that isn’t fit for writing).
3. There are also several stories and legends revolving around the Weary family which lived on the road named after them. One legend had a member of the family die in a house fire on this road. The members of the Weary family were farmers. They were reported to be good citizens of Evansville. No one died in a fire on this road.
On the metaphysical side, there were a couple sensitive’s with us and nobody felt anything out of the ordinary on this trip.
I can’t deny anyone else their experiences on Weary Road. I can just explain those experiences we had while our group visited.

well....the "car surfing" incident was pretty heavily publicized at the time, and you can still find an awful lot about it just googling. I don't mean just people talking about it on message boards like this - you can still find articles that appeared in newspapers at the time, like this one: findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4207/is_19950122/ai_n10182161/The kid's name was Matthew Floyd, he was 15 and he died in August of 1994 when he fell while "car surfing" on Weary road.

My mom was in town last Saturday and I took her for a tour of Weary Rd. We drove the whole road and I showed her all the different spots and told her all the legends. We ended the tour at the cemetery where I placed a single rose on the Weary family gravestone.

The other night I met a police officer from Evansville. He was surprised to hear how much I knew about Weary Rd. Then he offered me a piece of info related to the road that I did not know. I guess the parents of Matthew Floyd, the boy who died car surfing on Weary Rd, moved to Florida. The did not want to be away from Matthew so they had his body exhumed and relocated his remains to Florida.

Great job bobbybuka. I thought the car surfing incident may have happened in the 50's, I didn't know it was this recent.
