I think my grandmother's house is haunted.

I was home alone at my grandmothers house, the doors where locked and they have are no pets. I was upstairs and I heard foot steps. I went downstairs a to see if my grandmother was home and she wasn't. Naturally I was freaked out. I got out a kitchen knife and went around the house-there was no one in the house but me.
Also, my mother who dose not believe in anything supernatural, according to my grandmother got scared out of her mind when as a little girl got out of bed and saw a white figure floating in the next room. Do you think I might be on to something?
By the way the way the Macgroveland area where my grandmother lives has several reported hauntings close by.

Well from my opinion, MAYBE and MAYBE not.... There maybe a good explanation behind hearing the footsteps, i'm not saying its not possible but floors tend to creeck an crack in old houses... has anything else happen like this since then???

Also when I was little I used to hear voices in the basement and on the stairs. My mother tried to tell me it was my imagination but I'm not sure. A lot seems to happen on the stairs...
