So this is my first post!! YAY! lol I am currently in the Military and stationed in ND. I am getting out this december and heading home to go to school. I go home quite often and have always been intrigued by the paranormal. I had my first experience when I was 13 out in Wyoming, if you want to read about it, its kinda long but i'll put the story at the bottom of the page. Anywho, I was just wondering if anyone knew of supposidly haunted place in La crosse, WI or around that area? Or if there are any paranormal research groups in this area? If anyone has any information I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your time.

Ghost in Wyoming...
Me n my family took a trip out West when I was about 13 years old. We went to South Dakota, to included Deadwood and the Black Hills. Well my dad wanted to take us to a "dude ranch" sort of speak in Wyoming. So we went there and they taught us how to be "cowboys". Roping, riding, ect... For the weekend they took us out on an Authentic Cowboy camp out. I'm talkin really roughin it, sleepin bags, old school eating utensils. Cookin over the open fire n either sleepin under the stars or in a canvas tent. It was what i thought would be a really good time. Thats when it happened. We were all sittin around the camp fire and me n my older brother decided we were going to go look around. My dad said to stay within shouting distance, or so we can see the fire so we don't get lost. So we did; we were walkin along when we heard somethin behind us. It wasn't too heavily wooded n didn't see anything so we just kind of figured whatever; we were just scarin ourselves. We came upon this little hill and we were all excited, we could see everything from there. It was about dusk the sun is just about to set and we saw someone. I hit my brother on the shoulder n i was liek "who is that?" and he had no idea. It was someone walking around, but they were semi see through. It was an old man carrying one of those old oil burning laterns and his rifle. His clothes were about pre-Civil War style from what we could tell. Nothing was said but he was just walking shining his latern around like he was looking for something. Me n my brother were FREAKED!! we ran all the way back to the campfire. When our dad asked what was wrong, we couldn't even say anything, we were in tears we were so scared. One of the 2 trail guides said "you saw him didn't you?". I couldn't say anything but just stare at him. My dad said "saw who? who's out there?" One of the trail guys then started to tell us a story about and wagon train or whatever you call them that went through. One of the first ones to head out west. To make a long story short; he said the story went that, they were circled up for the night when 2 of the kids went missing. The dad went out to look for them with a couple of the other guys, but the dad n the kids were never seen again. They assume they were kidnapped n killed by indians but no one knows what really happened. And that there has always been an Ole Wives Tale about the ghost of the father that still lingers in search of his kids. I was freaked all night and didn't sleep. We left the next day and I still couldn't believe what had happend. Now i see it as a growing experience, and ever since then the paranormal has been really interesting to me. But when I think about it sometimes; i wonder if it was all part of the an act. The guys at the place were pretty funny and liked to joke around. And when we are kids we always think things are 10x worse than they actually are, but we are just kids and we convince ourselves that we really did see something. Who knows though. Well Thanks for listening
