I'm not really sure if this place is open for the public, but I believe it is a Musuem of some sort. Heres a little history; Frank Lloyd Wright, one of the most famous and talented architects in American History. He built a house and named it Taliesin, its located in Spring Green, WI. While Frank Lloyd Wright was in Chicago for business one of his servants was fired by his mistress. The man came back and bolted the doors to the dining room where the Mistress, 2 of her kids, and 6 other people were eating dinner. He then poured Gasoline under the doors and set it on fire. he then went out to the yard and used an axe or hatchet (depends on the story) to kill the ones who jumped out the window. the Dead and dieing were taken to a cottage on the property where most of the ghostly stuff happens. His Mistress (Mrs. Cheney) is seen in a white gown, lights go on n off, doors become unlocked n open on there own all sorts of stuff. It is a true story and sounds like a good place to visit Has anyone been there?

I went to The Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture / Taliesin at the end of September for my friend Michaels graduation celebration. We all used to hang out in the rave scene back in the late 90's and still enjoy the music. They had several parties complete with turntables and djs in the Library there at the school this past summer. It was a Saturday evening when we went. Many of the students had already departed to spend the winter at the arizona campus / Taliesin West. You can find a link for the grounds here (http://www.taliesinpreservation.org/visitorsguide/groundsmaps.htm). We basically had the abilty to explore wherever we wanted (in the hillside school). In the basement there is this weird tunnel that is about 20 feet long that you have to squat down to crawl through it opens up into an empty brick room, pretty erie. The basement opens up into the theater. We got to explore the operation booth for the theater and a back staircase in the theater. It was pitch black aside from our little flashlight. Now, up the hill from the school is The Romeo and Juliet Tower and Tan-Y-Deri; in this area is where the hauntings occur. We could not get into either of the buildings, they have people who stay in the guest house Tan-Y-Deri, and the tower was all locked up. My friend even climbed the tower to try to get in the door at the top. We didn't experience anything but Michael said a prominent teacher there, that he has a lot of respect for, has had experiences. He questioned the students about footsteps that he had heard at the house on the hill one day and another day when he showed up at the house it was vacant and the water was running.

No Problem, Next time I talk to my friend Michael I want to find out more details, we didn't talk about it too much at the party because he was entertaining. There is a book about it all. If you get a chance to go there you should, its all really beautiful.

I was there a few summers ago. It was pretty interesting. Mamah's grave is at the Unitarian Church, down the road. It's a simple flat stone, below one of the bigger tree's in the cemetery.

We plan on going there in a month, on the way home from Wisconsin Dells.
I have not been to Spring Green in many years... Can't wait!

Taliesin before the fire Mamah Cheney Headline of the murder. Tan-Y-Deri House *Located up the hill from the original Taliesin, this is where victims of the massacre were taken (mostly to die of hatchet wounds, and severe burns). Mamah is often reported to be seen here. Along with doors slamming for no reason. Rear of Tan-Y-Deri House Mamah's grave at Unity Chapel

I finished the Book "Death in a Prarie House" this weekend. It was very interesting and gives a graphic recount of the grissley murders. It was a lot more horrific than I had imagined. They did mention something interesting about the remains of Frank Lloyd Wright. He had been buried on the grounds of his property there in Spring Green. Before his daughter died, she had his body exhumed and brought to Arizona to be creamnated against his will. His grave marker is still in Spring Green but his remains are not. The also tell what became of the murder Julian and his remains. They did not mention one thing that I am a bit curious about; Where is the hatchet?
