I am interested as to what some of you guys do for ghost hunting during the winter months? Do you choose haunted houses or other indoor locations?
Personally, I hate winter. You won't find me drudging through a foot of snow in a cemetery to find ghosts. Is there a chance that paranormal activity is greater outside during the winter months?

I was born n raised in WI. I am from the La Crosse Area. La Crosse winter and winter up here in Minot, ND are wayyy different. Minot, ND is colder and Windier. The wind is what gets you. tonight it was -10 and -40 with the windchill. Its pretty much ridiculous. We have a couple of us from where i work we investigate some places and we tend to stick indoors. Just because it is sooo cold outside up here. You'll need a Weather Jacket for your camera or camcorder up here and be very careful about how you bring your equipment indoors. for cameras and camcorders its essential to put your stuff in plastic bags then your camera bag and bring inside to try to eleviate the moisture build up as much as you can. Just a couple tips

We look for indoor places. Winter is the time to check out historical locations. Not to many visitors so the noise is low, also I look for large Mausoleums. I was in one and I asked if there was anyone here and if they would like to say something and I got a voice on my rrecorder saying "I'm Dead"

i am mostly a freelance ghost hunter but do work with a few other people. we tend to stay indoors also. winter months are great time for research.. hitting the libraries and public files to get a jump on planned summer investigations.. historical locations like said before are a great way to go. also wisconsin has a great list of hotels, motels, inn's, and bed and breakfeasts. it does put a damper on things but i pull through well....

I have the it's so cold out, no one barely posts anything anymore, all my favorite haunted roads are all icy, I want to go to Ringling but its too snowy, I really really miss Weary Blues.

i'm not even going anywhere until summer. Right now i'm doing some research. i'd rather not go out in all the snow: a person could catch thier death (talk about irony).

I love to just look at the old snow covered grave stones and crosses in the area... not that I get eventful pics, but what's really interesting is finding oak and maple trees in cemeteries that are pelted full of leaves -- attached to the branches.
Why did those leaves not fall, like the other ones in the neighborhood or county vacinity? It's strange, as for all other trees have no leaves...

Unfortunately, I didn't get the "bug" to go out and check some of these sites until mid-November (trying to create a website of different haunted sites), and let me say, I can't wait for spring & summer to come.
Was out at Weary Road in the beginning of this month, and my hands still haven't thawed out, yet.

its because what i and alot of others beleive the reason for cold spots is ghosts, spirits, entities, manifest by other energy or heat sources... stealing the heat from an area can give it energy or power if you will... thats my opinion.... winter would make it harder in that aspect i guess being no heat to maifest from but who really knows...

Raven, I'd be willing to help out with photos or information for the website if you would like, if not let me know when it is up and running, I would love to check it out.
