Good job on your website Raven, it's really coming along. I like how you have added the photos and the videos, it really helps people get a feel for the different destinations. I also like how you have broken it down and your providing as much info as possible for each location. Keep up the good and let me know if there is anything I can do to help For those of you who haven't taken a look yet, here is a link if you want to check it out. beethoven23.tripod.com/ShadowState.html

Thank you omw.
Still alot of bugs to work out, but I'm glad you enjoyed your visit.
The videos are shot with a "lesser" camera, but like you said, I just wanted to give people an idea of what the site looks like.
Thanks again for the compliment.

Now, it's just a matter of trying to figure a way to get out to the site.

Hey darkman,
As I remember the story, there was a great battle between Native American's and a Viking party (not tailgaters from Minneapolis, but the burly red-haired type) in what is now Rocky Arbor State Park.
The battle was devasting for both sides (many casualties), with the Native American's eventually coming out on the winning end.
Visions of the warriors have been seen in the woods at Rocky Arbor, still battling one another. ---------
I hope to get there sometime myself, and check it out. Might be pretty cool.

wow!!!!! I know lots of natives are still around there. I think they still do ceremonmies at stand rock which isn't too far from there. I find it odd that the natives and vikings would fight, since both were nature worshippers . The early vikings before christ were pagan and pagans are almost the same as the natives. But maybe the battle was more recent.

The story was in Dennis Boyer's Driftless Spirits (it was driving me crazy for awhile because I couldn't remember where I got the story from). According to the book, the battle is part of Ho-Chunk folklore. There are supposed to be some cave drawings of the battle, in southern Wisconsin.

Hmmm, how to get to the Dell House? We could swim Also the story of the Battle at Rocky Arbor; is that for sure or is possibly just a legend? It reminds me a lot of the stories I would hear when I lived in Maui about the Night Marchers and the battle that took place in Iao Valley there.
