over memorial day weekend i was at my familys cottage in mt. morris wisconsin in waushara county. only about 20 miles away is plainfeild wisconsin the location of the ed gein murders and grave robberies. i have read and studied ed gein for some time and finally made it the location of his farm, the plainfeild cemetery where he is burried along with one of his murder victims and one of the many locations where he robbed graves, the hardware store where he killed burnice warden, and another cemetery where his ther murder victim was burried. i do have to say the day will be remembered forever . i have been through plainfeild many times and respect the fact that the town wants everyone to forget about that time in history but my visit was casual and discrete..

no but i did obey the no tresspassing signs and stayed off the property. i dont beleive there is anything paranormal at the cemeteries there or the hardware store, the property and possibly the hardware store have good reason to have activity but without permission and a full investigation its impossible to say if anything is going on at either places..

I wanted to visit Plainfield, myself (morbid curiousity, I guess), but I would really want to keep a low profile, if I went.

I went to Plainfield a few times several years ago, and the closest I came to a paranormal experience was feeling a few cold spots in the cemetary (we went in August 2005) and I did have a tree branch fall down in front of me (just barely missing my head) while we were walking around the property where his house once stood. There is also what appears to be a hunting cabin of some sort further back in the woods on the property as well. While at the hardware store, this creepy kid kept following me around; I don't know if he knew I was snooping (obviously we weren't so insensitive as to say anything about Ed Gein or the murders) or if he thought I was going to shoplift something....

Yet another interesting legend in WI. I really wish I could go on a legend trip there soon.
