What is the best way to find legit local legends?
I'm in Louisville, KY, & can only find "info" about the Pope Lick Monster (even wiki has the story all wrong), & Waverly Hills. Waverly is OK, if ya wanna pay a fee, be supervised like grade school children, & have limited time & access. I got the real scoop on the Pope Lick Monster from my Great Grandfather (born locally in the 1800's) when I was a baby & he was a very old man. Also, the residents of that road WILL call the cops & run people off their street. & don't even think about getting outta your car. This has been the sitch since my dad was a teenager - probably longer. And the area is no longer rural. It's a total 'burb now.
Long Run Cemetery is legit, IMO, but again heavily patrolled by police.
So... How does one find a legit legend trip w/o being arrested for simply being there?
Thanks!

I would check out the book "Weird Kentucky". This series of books always contain information about different legend trips. Some of the information is bogus, but I think that it would be a good starting point. Maybe you can even find it at your local library. Otherwise Google it. Here's another tip. If you go to www.barnesandnoble.com and create an account there you can look inside the book and preview different chapters without having to even leave your computer. Good Luck, and make sure you tell us if you go on any adventures PS I always like the "Roads less traveled" chapter.
