The Ghost of the Drake Hotel,Mpls..built in 1905..in the 1920's there was a Swedish Constuction worker came to Minneapolis from Osh Kosh ,Wisconsin with his eight year old daughter Becky..he paid up for three weeks stay at the Drake..they would go down stairs for lunch and dinner..then he found work the second day..Becky he said..you go down stairs for lunch..wait til I return in the evening..then we will have dinner together..she sat in a chair and looked out the window and waited and waited for her papa's return..day after day..the room paid up for three weeks..she never went down for lunch..she was to scared..she never knew her papa died that day..a crane dropped from the sky..its deadly load...Becky staring out the window..waiting and watching for her papa to come back..yet this very day..

Hi Barry - Welcome to the forum!!! (I noticed you just joined) - this is weird because I don't live in MN, I'm in Wisconsin - and haven't been in Minneapolis for decades - but I'm pretty sure I've heard of the "Drake Hotel" in Minneapolis fairly recently......

It's still standing, right? And has it been turned into a homeless shelter or something like that? (I'm trying to remember what was in the news about that place....it had nothing to do with the paranormal, but I think there were different groups who were opposed to using The Drake Hotel as a homeless shelter because it's so "run down" - was that it? And the county was responding that it was once a "luxury hotel" so the conditions there are still better than most homeless shelters in the world)

It sounds like a fascinating place, do you know if "current residents" are having any sort of supernatural experiences living there?

in 1997 there was Paranormal investigators team spent the night there..set up equipment and got some high level readings..Becky has been seen many times mostly by the staff back when it was People Serving People..she was mostly seen from outside as the little blonde haired girl looking out the window of the third floor..most did not pay attention for that fact..but when the sun came up she could not be seen..i seen her 4 times myself in my 3 years there as Food service supervisor..seeing is believing..the little blonde haired Becky waiting for her Dad to come home..her spirit will not be released til they tear down the Drake Hotel..a Soul caught in Limbo...Call the Drake now..talk to Ben..the Kitchen Food Svc.Mgr. about Becky the Ghost of the Drake Hotel

The Current residents say who is who is that little blonde haired girl sitting there looking out the window..just looking out the window..nothing better to do..but then again a lot of substance abusers and a lot of broken people..Becky is not a violent Ghost just a trapped soul in limbo...

Yes..I seen Becky four times..i was coming from our other building next door the 410 building which is tore down now and i would see a little Blonde haired girl just staring out a window early in the morning...and the other Food Svc. Spvr. Ben kept seeing her also..we told the Night Security and they said thats Becky..then they told me about her and the history of her in the Drake..A legacy...kind of like the Orpheum Theatre...they said sometimes she wanders the halls and being transitional housing..people would say who is the little blonde haired girl wandering around in the middle of the night all by herself..the staff would have say we make rounds every hour we will look in to it..they were not allowed to acknowledge to public about Becky being a Ghost..a trapped soul..waiting for the Drake to be torn down so she can be reunited with her father in Heaven
