to all:
When is everyone planning on doing their 2011 investigations? I can't wait until it warms up a bit and the ground isn't so wet and spongy. Taking a road trip to check out the haunted cemetery at Holy Hill in Hubertus and a haunted bar in Germantown. After, West Bend plus a few places in Boltonville. I also found a reported haunted restaurant in Mequon and have spoken with the owner. Hopefully that will follow. In early March, I'll be checking out a haunted restaurant/bar in downtown Milwaukee and will let you know what happens.
Winter is almost over and I can not wait to get out and explore! Had cabin fever way tooooooo long. Carol

Hi Ghostrider,
In Boltonville, both places. Re: West Bend...the UW-Washington County library, former Holy Angels building although it's an apartment building now, wander thru some cemeteries and the old jail house IF one can get in there. I'd be doing day tripping and more than likely during the week. I haven't been to Lizard Mound State Park in 20 plus years, so that might be another place to check out.
One day I really hope to get to Glenbeulah and Dartford Cemeteries, and near dusk. If you've been there, comments? Carol

I never knew Lizard Mounds was supposed to be haunted? I was out there quite a bit as a teenager and never saw or heard anything that would make me think it was haunted......intersting!

Hello everyone, Man do I have the "itch" to get out and ghost hunt. had way too much of this cabin fever winter blues! Sorry, can't take anyone with me ghost hunting as the car I use is my neighbor's. With that said, I'm checking out a haunted bar/restaurant in downtown Milwaukee today (3/4/11) and will report on it. Can't wait until spring comes with warmer weather and no more spongy ground! One future place I will be investigating is an old bar/restaurant in Mequon, built in 1895. I was there with my neighbor this past Monday for lunch and had my camera and EMF meter. Halfway to our table, the meter went off like crazy. Looked about for something that may have triggered it like a ceiling fan or electrical cords, signs, etc. NOTHING. I asked to talk with one of the owners and we had a nice conversation. Was told that a previous owner (from the 1970s) died directly above in his bedroom up on the second floor. Right below this bedroom is where my meter went off. The current owner has other stories to tell about what wait staff have experienced as well. I hope to wrap all this up in lat March or April. As for Dartford and Holy Angels (now an apt. bldg.) plus the University out in West Bend, I hope to do these on a full moon. Too many stories over the years not to believe something odd happens there. Same with Lizard Mound. Although not American Indian, I have a great connection to that culture and there are restless spirits in that park. Other things have happened there and recently, where men park their cars wanting "company." Bad vibes from that as well. Spring soon and with it 50 degrees plus. Happy Ghost Hunting. Carol

Hello Fellow Ghosthunters,
This coming Saturday, 3/26/11, I will be with three others investigating a haunted restaurant/bar here in Milwaukee, with another place set for next week. Any evidence will be posted. The first week in April is Holy Hill Cemetery and a Mequon business provided we don't have a foot of snow.
It's hard to tell its spring with this lousy weather, but it's time to ghost hunt! Drove past an old stone building on the south side of Milwaukee Wednesday afternoon and will check it out in the next two weeks. It's situated near a car dealership and other businesses, and set back from South 27th Street. Looks very out of place and very eerie. Don't know if it's a residence or ? Sometimes driving around I'll see a place, getting a "feel" for it and just have to check it out. Whether the owner will let me is another story.
There is a haunted used car part business on the near south side of Milwaukee in the third ward. The owner refuses to let anyone investigate the place as one night after closing, he was driving his truck on the way home and had an unwanted passenger that scared the crap out of him. He shared the ride with a ghost. This owner did a couple of investigations with me in 2009 and relayed the story. Seriously, selling used cars and used car parts that came from gosh knows from what kind of people let alone maybe accidents where folks died is pretty creepy. Things linger!
Onward toward the weekend! Carol

I so want to go back to Glenbeulah soon! It's been a long winter, that's for sure... Just when the snow was gone and it was warming up, we got blasted with snow again... Blah.
The Third Ward is all too awesome! I love going there, and killing time!

Hi Nemforever,
Can't say for sure you'll capture anything on your camera with it sitting in your locker, and a tape recorder will moe than likely get tons of student's voices between classes. If there are known hotspots in your school, see if you can film the area(s) either before or after school hours. If you or a friend has an EMF meter, use that discreetly and check out where these spirits linger.
Got a dance coming up or even prom and you're going? Take pictures. Also, see if the janitor will let you in a place that is haunted.
I wish you good luck and hopefully something will be captured on film, or tape. Let us know!
Carol

With weather permitting, I'll be going to Glenbeulah Cemetery plus Boltonville area the first week in May. I'm very much looking forward to this as it will be my first time at both places. Has anyone out there been to Glenbeulah Cemetery recently? Anyone have anything to report on the Old Wade House in Greenbush? I know the ballroom was a former type of hospital helping injured soldiers, and there were deadly fights in the bar room.
Input anyone?
Thanks, Carol

Went to Cedarburg last weekend to check out some haunted sites, although people say the entire town is haunted. It was very windy but at least the sun was shining. I've been to Founder's Park four times, hardly ever getting anything on the EMF meter. This time it was different....many spikes and several cold spots. The trees surrounding the cemetery acted like a wind breaker. Not one bird chirping...very silent. I walked down the short path to just outside this place and the wind started howling like a banshee.
Right next to the woods/cemetery is an open grassy area, which back in the 1800s had a small wooden church on site. Again, my EMF meter went nuts. There are no electrical wires above or utility poles around that could interfere with the meter. I even pointed it several times to the ground thinking maybe underground cables. Debunked. Pictures taken still have yet to be developed.
At the Peddler's Corner Shop right at Bridge and Washington, my EMF meter went nuts in that place. I haven't been there in over 10 years, and forgot how haunted it is. I got various readings in different rooms, with the highest on the Gauss meter going to 5 many times over. The atmosphere is very heavy, and I felt like I was being watched. Yes, there could be security cameras but I saw none let alone wires, cords or cables. Also, there is a rack in front with sale items and I pointed the meter at a 2011 calendar and it registered a 5.
The salesclerk chatted with the other customer while I browsed, using the EMF.
When she left, I asked her if there were ever any unexplainable incidents that took place. She told me things are misplaced, pens and marking items turn up missing only to be found in the most unlikely places, folded items become messy and other customers have commented on how cold the place gets even though it may be summer. Rumor has it that an old German man lived there back in the 1800s and still thinks of the place as his home.
In the back near the Anvil Grill Restaurant is a shop selling hand crafted wooden furniture (tables, chairs, etc). Outside while looking at rocking chairs, the EMF meter again registered a strong 3 to 4 out of 5. NO wires, NO cameras and NO metal detected anywhere. Inside the mill, I went to the 3rd floor first and got several readings and cold spots. The 2nd floor I didn't feel anything and nothing with the EMF. The 1st floor had a lot of meter activity especially in a small shop right next to Crepe and Cream Restaurant. This little place sells games and toys, cards and WI food products, and even old fashioned candy like taffy bars AND wax lips and mustaches. If only the walls could talk!
In October near Halloween, there are gothic tours of Cedarburg and I hope to attend one this year!
As for the haunted restaurant/bar in Mequon, nothing can be said. Phone calls and emails were made to the owner, and back in late February he promised face-to-face "Yes, you can do an investigation." What happened, I don't know. False promises and lost hope? I THINK NOT. I don't take no very lightly so before going to Glenbeulah, I will drop in on him and see what he has to say. This also happened on another investigation set up in downtown Milwaukee. The owner was gung ho, then when we called to set the time/date, not a word from him. Even checked if he was still alive.
Does anyone else have this happen to them? I am not pushy, and when someone promises something, they should deliver. If they change their mind(s), get back to us!
Input folks!
Carol
