Hey, Urban, I would be interested in what you have in the way of pictures and experiences. I have an acquaintance that worked out there with the Jaycees or Big Brothers/Big Sisters and had a haunted house as a fundraiser. She had a couple of stories to share.
To my knowledge, she had told me the property had been sold and no one was suppose to be on the grounds. If you decide to go back, please ask permission and be careful.

Urban, I believe what you experienced on your couple of trips. I hope the fine did not get you into a lot of trouble. Your friends most likely had to pay the minimum trespassing fine which is $1000. I know about a lot of laws that way because I am a Hunters Ed instructor.
I would be very interested in seeing the pictures that you took. If you are interested, I could have the Ghost Research group I belong to look at them also. Maybe, we could meet at St. Naz sometime and check it out - during the day, or closer to dusk.

Thanks, urban2283, for the account of your experiences. I'm curious though -- what drew you to JFK Prep in the first place? I've received lots of reports over the years, but many conflict and the stories are all over the place. I'm sorta curious what you had heard -- and I'm interested in accounts from other people as well. Thanks! Richard Hendricks rdh@execpc.com Weird Wisconsin www.weird-wi.com

Urban,
I commend you for researching St. Naz as deeply as you have. Most people would not and just run to see if it is haunted. I do have a couple of friends that have told me of paranormal activity that has happened there.

If Chad and Terry dont mind me plugging my website on their message board, I have just finished up my report on St. Nazianz, JFK Prep School/ Salvatorian Seminary. If you would like to view my report and pictures, just go to: www.geocities.com/leapin420/Salvatorian_Seminary.htmlOr you could just click on the link at the bottom to view the entire site. Believe me, I did a lot of research before writing up this report, not to mention spending almost the entire day there! (after talking to the new owners of course!) ~Leapin~

Thank you Chad, I really appreciate the fact that you took the time to read it. While I'm at it, I don't know how much of my site you read, but in my report of the Maribel caves hotel (Hotel Hell) I had placed a link at the bottom of the page that links to your report on Hotel Hell. I hope this was OK with you. Also, I would just like to add that I'm gonna be updating that report soon because I have had a lot of people coming forward with personal experiences at Hotel Hell, Including a interview with one of my mother's friends who worked at the hotel in the late 70s/ early 80s when a gentleman (the previous owner) ran a bar out of the first floor of the hotel!!!! I'll let you know when the report gets updated.
Once again, Thank you

Hi again. First of all, I don't want to come off as being sarcastic or anything, but the spelling of the village where JFK Prep (the formerly known as) is spelled St. Nazianz (and not St. Nazians). And the county it is located in is Manitowoc County (and not Manitowac County). I am noting this, in case someone from outside this area wished for more access to info and needed the correct spelling. Unfortunately, due to living so close, and being a child of the 60's and 70's, we all took this place for granted. It was about 5 miles or less away from the village I grew up in. When I was in my first year of high school, that school was still used as a Preparatory College. Young adults from all over the state and neighboring state went there. Very private place. Very expensive. What I do remember is when ppl were given notice it was to be the last school year. And I do remember the string of suicides that happened every Lenten season. And that the local police men were called there all the time... due to a lot of drinking and drug usage of the students. My second year of high school, we gained 2 new classmates, they were students at Prep the year before that. Due to it shutting down, and them being locally raised. What I do know is they never felt anything was real abnormal there, but were familiar with the suicides. All my life I have lived in this county. And right now, I live on the other side of the bridge from Manitowoc's Evergreen Inn, which is also supposidly haunted. Anyone familiar with that place? I am... a little. Maybe another post, another day. (How do you make a new subject/catagory on here?) I live less than 15 miles away from JFK Prep. And I live less than 20some miles away from Maribel Caves Hotel. Lucky meeee!!! Lastly, other than being new to this site... for the gal who shared her pics of JFK Prep, the pics are awesome! I wish I had pics to share from when the school was in it's prime. I had been in the school and dorms several times... early 80's. I had done some camera work there, in the mid 90's, and was not chased away, but it was before Dawn Peterman (and now whatever her new married name is, it starts with a D, Dabeck?? Dombeck? ) had started to rent it for an open house. (yes, I know Dawn, for many years!! this will make me curious to ask her a few things...) I love sites like this... I figure it's all state history, right?? To Chad, if you read this... I have watched info on your site and other sites mention your name. I am in awe of the knowledge you have, and information you have accessed and made available to others... Just very envious of you, and thanks for doing the research and all.... Maybe I will be attending your Appleton confr. next week, if I can get off of work... good day --

(How do you make a new subject/catagory on here?) When you enter one of the boards, such as "Personal Experiences" or "Ghosts," click on "New Thread" on the white bar at the top. Welcome to the message board. We appreciate your posts and hope to see you at the conference.

Thanks for the info. I did not know how to do that! Pathetic, as for how illiterate I am on these sites! I WILL be there. I have officially asked off from my job. *jumping for joy* here!!! Anyone else from this message board going???? After following this type of thing for more than 25 years, and the murder books (true life) -- I am so thrilled about this event coming up! (Terry, you got email... thanks)

Terry? My email to you just bounced. States your account is not active? It's a CelticCrow address.
Note me or email me. It was more than the note above, on location and such.
thank you!

I cannot wait for Friday to roll around. Due to this conference and also trip to Starbuck's. (There is no Starbuck's around here, something about the atmosphere, it makes me happy, not just to go there but sit at a table facing College Avenue.)
I will be there, I look forward to this new book. Another signed book? I have a few... yet I was so close to getting a signed book, by Ed Gein, years ago, and then "lost it" at the thought of meeting him. And a year later he died.
I asked off of work, and was questioned by boss who I got to know quite well, what was the reason for last minute off? I usually ask off with more notice. "A conference in Appleton". He lives in the Fox Cities. And is a born again Christian. Asked what type. I replied "on a hobby of mine". I suppose he thinks it will be on the stained glass hobby I have done for the past 25 years? *sigh* I just don't need to be preached at by someone on anything.
Anyways... looking forward to it.
