Most people believe that animals do not have souls, but this is not the case.
This is not a deceased pet story, but amazing in it's own right. It will give you a little insight to the connection that pets have with their owners.
My aunt and uncle have a large farm in northeastern Illinois. They had a dog that was a part-dalmation named Spot. The dog had the run of the 1500 acre farm. When my uncle went into town to get supplies, Spot almost always went along for the ride.
They went on a long weekend to visit friends in Iowa. Spot always went along on their short trips away from the farm. They were within an hour of their destination when they decided to stop at a rest area. My uncle let Spot out to do his duty. He caught wind of a rabbitt in the tall brush surrounding the rest area and took off.
They looked tiresly for their dog, but to no avail. They called their friends and told them what happened. They cancelled the visit to look for their dog. They spent nearly 24 hours looking for their pet in this rest area and beyond. Finally, they had to return to the farm without their pet, which was more than 200 miles from home.
About two months had passed. My uncle was out in the barn working on equipment. He went outside to witness a beat up and mal-nourished Spot walking slowly back to the farm down the long gravel driveway. He quickly gathered him up and took him to the vet. A couple of weeks later, Spot was as good as new.
Dogs, or any animals for that matter are not dumb animals. I witnessed the before and after Spot ordeal for myself. I believe that they are connected to us in life, and after life. Spot's desire to find his family is a testament that they do have a soul.

but what i find interesting is that there hasnt been reports of ghost dinosaurs... like raptor and herbivours since most of those spieces died violently and suddenly. i mean if pets have a form of a soul shouldnt all creatures?

Maybe the reason is that when the asteroid hit, it was the end of one era, and the beginning of another.

I feel a lot of my pets that have crossed over around me quite frequently. Mostly the ones I have had the closest bonds with. It is very comforting to know that they are still with me

I am a firm believer of pets having souls. I recently had to put my cat down because of kidney and liver failure. I had her 14 wonerful years she was the sweetest cat. and she was a curous soul anyone that would come over she be the first to greet them. But as she got sicker I dreaded the day i had to put her to sleep. Forever. I knew i would just cry and be sick all night. and i was. Its only been 4 months and i still miss her terribly. But the 2nd night of her passing i was awaken by her meowing. I dont know what i was thinking But i remember saying "Fanna!" its not feeding time yet" then i heard her again. when i went to pet her i woke up. i relized that she was gone she wasnt even there. But yet she was. Every now and again i will here here but it dont make me sad anymore i believe our pets come back to let us know that they are ok. One day we will see them again. That i do believe.

wow! thats freaky!! maybe that cat was hurt and had walked on your neighbors roof, then died and came back to be with you. but you were trying to find the cat but couldn't although it was right in front of you., but of coarse you couldn't see it becasuse the cat was deid.
my friend malayna had a cat that had past away some years ago. and whenever one of her friends sleepover her friend would see the cat in the closet were it would usually sleep. and it would stare at them(the kind of stare saying hurt her and i'll kill you kinda stare)and the next day they would tell her that the her cat scared the s__ out of them. they would discribbe the cat and she would tell them that it couldn't have been that cat 'cause it had been dead for some years already! and when she told me that story to just beware if i see a cat in her closet, when i had sleeped over her house the 1st time. i never saw the cat, probaly cause i was no harm to her and probaly cause i was her bf. but idk i still wonder why i never saw the cat whenever i would sleepover.
so in a way of coarse animals have souls (ask any native american!). humans and animals are suppossed to co-exist its pretty much part of nature. some house pets like cats, and dogs have a profound love for their human owners and most times when they die they still stay with their owners because they can't stand to stay away from them. still they are only in soul they are still profounded by they're owners. and stay to protect them even if they are not needed. carrie

I didn't get a chance to read everyone's response. But I'm just going to say this: that is a tragic thing that happened to the kitten. Whoever is cruel enough to hang the body of a kitten on a fence should be stalked and tormented by a thousand ghosts. But hey that's just me.
I know for a fact that you can have a ghost pet. Because I have one. He is a wolf that I had rescued and raised since he was but a couple days old. Ever since he passed away, he's never stopped following me around. Same with another pet that I have. The wolf is named Demon, and the dog's name was Daisy.
