Hello all,
My name is Ryan. I am a native to Eau Claire. I am serving in the Marine corps in South Carolina. I realize this has nothing to do with Wisconsin hauntings...but I would still appreciate your feedback on this matter.
A couple friends of mine, my wife, and I recently went on a ghost hunting expedition at the Old shedon church near Yemassee SC. We went approx around 1am. We had in our possesion, 2 digital cameras and 1 camcorder.
Nothing big happened to us for the first few minutes. We just wandered around snappng photos and recording anything and everything we could. We walked around and through the abandoned church. There are quite a few headstones and gravemarkers adjacent to this structure as well. We took pictures of all the headstones.
One of the headstones was of a couple. The husband had died and the wife is still alive somewhere. The interesting thing about the pictures we took of this was that where the husbands name, birth and death dates were...they glowed in the picture...whereas the wifes side of the headstone did not. It was a faint glow of light, but nevertheless, it was still on his side of the marker and not hers.
The only other thing that really happened was right when we were about to leave, we noticed three other headstones near an outcropping of bushes right next to the fence. We started our way over towards the headstones and as we got closer to them, it seemed as if the air was getting colder. There was no breeze or any other way the air could get that cold, that fast. Not thinking to heavy on the atmosphere change, we started with the picture snapping. My friend Lisa and myself both got a "not welcome" feeling at the same time. I felt as if my stomach was churning butterflies and I had to walk away from the graves. My wife felt her left elbow get really cold, like someone with cold hands was grabbing her. Her right elbow felt normal, I know this because I checked it out personally...there was a difference in her body temperature. We unanimously decided to leave the area and come back a different day.
A lot of the photos we took had very elaborate orbs in them. Bright orbs, small dim orbs, even red orbs were recorded by our cameras.
As we drove back (and I dont lie when I say this), I got a premonition of a couple. An elderly couple which were from the late 1800's. The man had a long beard and the woman was your typical elderly lady. In my premonition, I felt that they were the source of the temperature change, the cold elbow, and the sickly feeling Lisa and I got. It was almost as if they were trying to let us (specifically me in my premonition) know that their spirits were not at rest.
Now, I am a very sane individual and not one to try and bring attention to myself. I do not lie when I state that this all really happened to us that night. I will not forget the faces of the couple I saw in my minds-eye.
Feel free to provide me with some feedback, and what your thoughts and feelings are on this expieriance.
My email is RYAN.FREID@USMC.MIL if anyone wants to discuss this and anything else in the paranormal realm in more depth.....SIDENOTE: I am a sucker for the infamous Caryville haunts, if anyone wanted to discuss those with me.
