That headlight experience sounds very cool. There aren't a lot of places a car could go to pull in anywhere. I would be interested on hearing more about the hell hounds as well. It is a shame that it has come to this. One our previous visits, a local drove by and stated this is private property and we have no right to be there(referring to the road as a whole). We had no intentions of going into the woods and disrepecting the owner or the law for that matter, but there are a lot of others that ruin it for those of us who are truly interested in what's going on with the road. As for the camera goes, I hope it does work to prevent people who do tresspass. Harkey, yeah it was a very cool experiance....it scared the **** out of everyone LOL no one has forgotten our experiance's at whitch rd...and i dont think anyone will!It is a shame that the owner or whoever posted about the no trespassing has had to go through with all the nonsence a haunted area attracts!!We as a group and personally have never stepped across the line we have always stayed on the side of the road and will continue to watch and listen for anything out there!the road is public so thats where we will be,i feel bad for the owners that this has brought so much attn to their land but it is one of Wisconsin's most haunted places....and i dont think the spirt(S) are going away anytime soon....

The lights in the woods are the cameras clicking. The "cooler" areas are simply thermals. There have been reports of a lot of vandelism and the owner wishes to keep everyone safe by not enterning the property. OMG has violated the law by breaking and entering the property and has taken pictures of the interior barn; OMG is in big trouble.

The reputation started about 35 yrs. ago. Two sisters (never married) lived in the home that their parents left to them, together with the farm. They hired men to farm the land until their death. They rarely went to town; they were private, intelligent, well-read women. Because of the surviving sisters advanced age, she went to live in a nursing home in Ripon where she continued to read one book per day up to the day of her death. Their home was vacant for a period of time and stories started.... They were very warm and generous people and it would have peirced their heart had they known of the vandles that ravaged then burned their home. It was only because they were single women minding their own business caused mystery to the locals. One far-fetched story lead to another until it was blown out of proportion. It truly was an honor and a priveldge to have met the one sister. Trust me, the area is NOT haunted and they were not "witches"!

Well there we go........now we know the whole story!!!But there is no denying what i and other people have observed and heard out on that road! I know what i saw and heard so something is going on out there maybe not the ladies you speak of but....something.I have my therories but thats just therories!! and it dosent have anything to do with a witch.Yes it is sad all the vandalisim that takes place but you also have to relize......we are not all vandals, some of us have respect for others property as i stated before. Its a shame they burned down the house and the trespassing and all,it truly is!People please if you decide to check it out for yourselves be mindful of the no trespassingLets not let this get outta hand again!

BTW Thank you tinker for filling us in with the story of the area, the stories that i got from locals in the area match the timeline of 35yrs when the area got its reputation, but nobody ever seemed to know who or when anyone actually lived there. Thank you
