regardless that is an incredible building, definately if the place was abandon it would almost instantly be assumed with hauntings with its history of an asylum

Yes the building is still there. It was converted into a nursing home and I beleive other county offices attached to it.

I have also heard from an Employee that the Nursing home (Amercian Heritage) in Hammond Wisconsin has some activity. The Employee stated the a elderly woman kept the pictures in the dining room straight. When she arranged the ones over the piano (flower pictures) she whould always drop them on the floor without breaking it. The elderly woman has since passed, but the pictures near the piano still fall to the floor time to time without breaking. This may not be anything but a bad nail in the wall, but I found it interesting.

about the Asylum/County Farm/Poor Farm....the original builing was Beautiful but I remember when it was torn down when I was a kid. The part that the nursing home is in was a later "addition" I believe it was the seventies that the nursing home and the current offices for SCC Health and human services were built. there is a tiny little cemetary with basically unmarked graves right next to it on the property, also.
The New Richmond Heritage Center has alot of Polk and St Croix County reference books, photographs, and the people that are there have a vast amount of knowledge of local history. I bet some of those old builings on the property could be fun to stake out for the night. But I wonder, how would it affect paranormal activity if the buildings were moved from a previous location?? Any thoughts?
Don't forget-there are a couple of haunted churches in the Amery area!
