I am new in the world with a digital voice recorder. Do you have one? Any luck? I am so new with the voice recorder... I have had it almost a week.
I usually went off other observations. (edit: meaning in general, if the location was a building or a cemetery or anything...)
Still what a person can hear or observe is just all too fascinating!
Do you go to this place (Stoughton) often? Curious...

I own the book myself and yes there is info but.....in the book on pages 210-216 on 216 the case concludes that the "rumors" are false. And that's great. But going there is a totally different experience then reading about it in a book Even with reading about it in a book... fiction or fact... I still usually want to find a way to places if I can. Like Kate Blood's grave stone. Anyway you look at things, there is no way she could have killed her husband (and your book points this out as well). But just to be there... to see what it's all about was neat. But that's me. Haunted or just run down and neglected, I like to look around and wonder... I figure the next time I go to the Madison area, to try to find this place. Just to see...

I have NOT been to this place. And when in the Madison area, I would like to some day.
But Richard stated it best.
The "Road Guide" is great on pics and detail on what to look for...
Due to that book/guide I found Kate Blood's grave stone and knew more about it than just from websites. Without the book, I never had any luck or clue. And with the book... volia!
And then to mention a few other places... the book and info really helped!
*nods* Yep. Go buy the book. Better yet go to one of their conferences and hear them talk about some of these properties and buy a book and get it signed!

And this second message does not pertain to your post, but today I was walking thru Potter's Field in my city and saw a grave stone of Fred Krueger.
For some reason, I saw it was an old date, and thought of the movies of Freddy that I so adored years ago... never knew he was buried in my city!

Wow!
And if you go... I someday hope to read a full report of it all!
One of my brothers used to live right off of Stoughton Road, more than 12 years ago. I have heard bits and pieces of interesting things taking place in the area a while ago, but since they now live about 20 minutes outside of Madison... I have not really heard much. With his job, he is in a position to sometimes find out things if I ask him. Maybe I'll copy and paste this to an email and see what his reply is?
And then I think... next time I am in the Madison area, maybe it is worth a visit there?

So excited I cannot handle it!
So I reserved and now read this: as good as the first one? It will be the same, plus more, right??

I was wrong. The book thru Amazon is $133, and available as used.
The same author, Wolffgang Von Bober has another new book out, called "Destiny's Shadow", and it was published 3/2005. For some reason, Amazon site does not have a description of this, but it is his second book.
Meanwhile, I some day hope to get "The Carver Effect". and this book. Not asking for too much, am I?

I just posted this same on another Kate Blood listing:
Saturday my son and I took a road trip, and found Kate Blood's gravestone...
It was hard to find, as Fischer had mentioned there are several section D's, that is correct. For a while I felt like I was on a wild goose chase. But then I saw the chained off area... and we were there.
I had not seen one single person in the cemetery that day, for the time I was there. Just amazed at how huge the cemetery was, then again, Appleton is a lot bigger city than the one I am from...
Even if the dates and info don't match up (no way she could have killed her husband, as for he married after her, etc), it was just incredible to be there.
Since getting back, I have talked to a few ppl from a distance who got Riverside in Appleton mixed up with Riverside in Oshkosh, as the cities are very close. (That day as well, I was at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh, on Katie's GhostWalk, which was very informative and wonderful, hearing about the history on local families and the grounds!)
My pictures turned out great, full of Spring color. And when we were ready to leave, we picked some lily of the valley and put them on the top of the stone, next to some purple violets.
Just to go back now... under a full moon... *nods* that will be the plan for some other time [/center] *sigh* I saw no one in the cemetary, at about 2:30 p.m. Heard nothing but the river and wind. It was incredibly peaceful... especially once I found the right area and was able to stop the car and quit driving around and glancing at the "Road Guide to Haunted Locations", which helped quite a bit, but I was still having to watch the clock, as we had to be somewhere less than an hour away, and needed more than 30 minutes to drive there. So I was glad for the Road Guide, the good weather, and just to be there... And even though this grave stone was away from the others, and close to the river... I found it very tranquil. Almost felt intoxicated by it's beauty... Now... if I could have an answer to the stress and migraines for this week's torture... that would be good.

I hope to go past this area on my next trip to the Dells. We drive right thru Fond du Lac, yet I will have to have more of a plan on the where abouts of the road. Perhaps I should look at page 125 again...
For a few of the places I have been to in the book, or familiar with... scary or haunted or just run down, it's just neat to see. To be there. To snap a picture or three.
In the past week, I have been to Riverside Cemetery, Appleton, twice. The latter of the two times I have discovered more and more about Kate Blood's grave stone area, the other surrounding stones, a different Blood stone... I stayed there for a while and observed as others showed up, as we walked the trails in the area along the river. And this was all in daylight.
So, SpookyMike, do you drive around with the Guide in your book as we do on weekends? I need to get another book, so I can leave one in the car permanently...

Here is a journal page, comparisons on the movie and book and more.... The spelling is not the greatest, who ever did this, but it is quite interesting! www.journalcommunity.com/entry.php?EntryID=16224 To the best of my knowledge, this will not open up a new window. And for the record, I have not seen this movie yet, or read the original book in ages... but hope to re-read the book and see the movie...

I know the book "Grave's End" was not the same as "Amityville Horror" -- but that case was not to make money off of it, as how it read. It was of the family who bought the house, and how they stayed living there and tried to maintain some type of life. They dealt with the well known Han Holzer, and i forget the Medium's name, but for how the story went, I was beyond impressed with the communication between the Medium and the spirits. Have any of you read any of Hans Holzer's books? I have not, not even seen them at our local library or book stores (the chain one in my city is horrible for selection in the paranormal topic, right Chad? *laughs*) BUT have seen the books by the author on Amazon.com. I have yet to order any.... have to get ahold of Richard's new book -- www.cnb-scene.com/weirdbook.html "Weird Wisconsin"! first. (Richard, I hope you don't mind that I am typing this out??) I read "Amityville Horror" as a teen, and was scared nutsless, to think the least. I read the book in about one night... was babysitting in a small village, and the child was young and slept most of the night, and I kept turning the pages, pouring myself into the story, and walking around the house and turning all the lights on, feeling very alone. By the time I finished the book, the parents of the child were back and very intoxicated, and now I had to walk home -- alone -- in the dark, around 3 or 4 in the morning... again, scared, terrified! I really don't think the Lutz family was trying to make money off the house/story... as Elaine Mercado (resident and author of the book) did not... still, hard to think..... Have a splendid weekend! #nosmileys#nosmileys

Lots of young ppl outside, one washing his car. It was good weather and there was a handful of ppl just standing around. And now I, too, want to know what else happened there? Chad? Terry? What do you know?

As for being familiar with Appleton, and there often, and just there a few days ago... where exactly is this place? I have not heard of it, but was it previously under a different name? Curious....
