Before calling a priest I would find a science based paranormal investigation group in your area and see if they can't rule out all other explanations first. There are a lot of other things it could be, such as sleep paralysis or high EMFs.

In my opinion, ghosts don't drain batteries. IF they exist, I believe they would BE some form of energy already and wouldn't need to suck the energy from batteries and appliances to manifest. Battery drainage could just be a natural reaction between the battery and the ghost's energy. I've found that a lot of time on investigations, your battery will drain but then as soon as you leave the site it will mysteriously be fully charged again.

We sold out! We also filmed an episode of our TV show "Paranormal Generation" there the night before. The staff were really nice. They let us leave our equipment running overnight while the building was locked and everybody was out. Hopefully we get something.

Well, cold weather drains batteries. Last winter we investigated an abandoned theater with no power or heat and we were having a lot of problems with batteries draining. Also, if there's a lot of snow covering a house, there could be carbon monoxide, and lower nonlethal levels can cause people to feel uneasy or nauseas, which could explain some reports of activity.

Hi, I'm from the group that was there filming an episode in October. It wasn't for the Discovery Channel. The show is called "Paranormal Generation" and it airs on Illinois' ARTV channel, and you can watch it online too. We premiered the Shaker's episode today, actually. You can watch it at www.youtube.com/paranormalgeneration (the episode is titled "Smoke & Mirrors"). It's split into 4 parts, so make sure you watch all 4 parts. You can find out more about Paranormal Generation on the official website (www.paranormalgeneration.com) and on our group's website (www.midwestpreternaturalresearch.com).

Last July, our group Midwest Preternatural Research was contacted by Curt Strutz about being involved in this new paranormal TV show called "Paranormal Generation". The show airs on Illinois' ARTV channel, and can also be viewed online. We're going to film our sixth episode this week, and we aired our second episode today. "The purpose of “Paranormal Generation” is to create a television/web based media program that takes a realistic & scientific look into the paranormal. Our goal is to create a 100% true to life paranormal investigation program free from Hollywood tricks, imagery, or special effects – and to provide the public with this unique experience through TV and Internet. Under NO circumstances will artificial evidence footage ever be used in the making of this program – 100% genuine, no questions asked. This show will be as close to a genuine paranormal investigation as one can get. The show will have a more scientific/historical angle than many of the ghost hunting shows currently running. No cheap thrills, no screaming every time the floor creaks, no “summoning spirits,” no relying on psychics, no crying orbs every time a speck of dust floats past the lens. Personal experiences are wonderful but inconclusive. Evidence must be recorded on a device of some sort. Paranormal Generation will take on locations and cases and do an entertaining and honest investigation. We will go over specific tools used by investigators, explain the common beliefs of the paranormal, as well as tell about often mistaken evidence captured in traditional investigations by both professional and amateur investigators." You can watch the episodes online on the Midwest Preternatural Research website (www.midwestpreternaturalresearch.com), the Paranormal Generation website (www.paranormalgeneration.tv), and on www.youtube.com/paranormalgeneration

It is NOT based on a true story. And I enjoyed it as a movie, but it wasn't very accurate. I would really love to see a ghost movie where they do some research and get all the theories and such right.

We did an investigation there in 2005, when there was a different owner. You can read the full report on our website here: www.midwestpreternaturalresearch.com/prep.htmlBasically we thought there was *something* going on, but the site is also surrounded in urban legend and we were able to debunk 90% of the stories that are on the internet. There's nothing bad or evil there. I've since been emailed by several former students who used to go to school there, including the roommate of the girl who hung herself back in the 70s. A friend of her's also emailed me. I have the girl's name, why she did it, a little bit about her, and even her suicide note (copied into email). And, no, it had nothing to do with a nun or being molested or beaten. That was again just an urban legend. These are some audio clips we recorded that I found interesting. There are more on our website, but these were the ones I thought were most interesting. The first one was recorded when a group of us were doing an EVP circle when the owner came to check on us. We asked if the owner wanted to try asking a question and he asked "what should I do with this place?" We repeated the question, and then the sound that follows nobody remembered hearing at the time: h1.ripway.com/mattschenk2005/clip1.mp3This next one was recorded a few months later, when one of the investigators was there by himself just helping the owner sweep. You can hear the broom. It was only him and the owner on the grounds at the time. The owner was outside. Here a female voice comes through and says the investigator's name (Kurt): h1.ripway.com/mattschenk2005/clip9.wavAnd lastly this was recorded on our followup investigation in October. As an experiment, a group of us tried singing church hymns in the church to see if that would get a response. When they ran out of memorized hymns to sing they tried some Christmas carols, though this was early October. An hour later, another group of us was sitting in a hallway that connects to the church. They had no knowledge that others were singing Christmas songs in the church an hour prior. They were just sitting in the hallway doing EVP recordings when one of their cell phones began playing We Wish You A Merry Christmas: h1.ripway.com/mattschenk2005/ChristmasPhone.wav
