Very nice pics! I saw the story about SummerWind on A Haunting and I watched it about 3 or 4 times lol. I'd love to go there someday because it seems like a really cool place.

I saw the interviews and reenactment of summerwind on "a haunting". they didnt say much about any continued hauntings after the destruction of mansion. So the hauntings continue? Has anyone camped in the ruins overnight?

I'm sure that there have been some folks who have camped there overnight, but I personally don't know of any. I was asked by townsfolk in Land O'Lakes if I had indeed camped there, but no, I didn't.
I do know that there are a number of people who venture out there at night, because being in the ruins in the dark seems to add to the eerieness and spookiness of it all. One gentleman that I speak to on occasion prefers to go out there around dusk and stick it out until a few hours into the dark. During that time he and his friends like to fool around with a Ouija Board and see who they can talk to. Both times they've attempted that, they've managed to "speak" to Captain Carver, who told them (yes, both times) to leave.
Yes, the hauntings continue. Maybe not to the extent that occurred "way back when", but they're there. That splitting headache I got......that's not uncommon for visitors to Summerwind. It used to happen to people when they'd go into one certain room or a certain area. (Todd Roll, in his visiting the house in the 1980's, said he got that feeling in the master bathroom). When sharing that story with a gal in Land O'Lakes (who is a regular visitor to the house and friends with the owners), she said she never got the headaches, but always felt a feeling of doom from the cellar, as if she wasn't wanted in there, or something. This gal also confessed to using a Ouija board at the ruins, and "spoke" to an entity that confirmed it was an "evil" entity, and did not hesitate in telling her that "it" didn't want her there.
Thanks for the comments everyone!

I envy you! I live in the Chicagoland area, and was planning on venturing to the Summerwind estate with some friends this summer (er.. I guess last summer ), but the plans never work out. Hopefully, I'll be able to go there myself sometime soon.

According to their official website, the Series will return on January 5th, at its regular time. They will also start showing it on Saturday and Sunday. I am not sure if they are going to make new episodes anytime soon though. dsc.discovery.com/tv-schedules/series.html?paid=1.13056.25513.31742.x

summerwind sure looked different in the 70's then it does now. Now its a wooded area , looking at the photos back from the 70's it looks like there is no woods.

I don't remember noticing a guest cabin there. anyone know of this??? The only things that were standing when we were there a few years ago was the stairway in front of the house and the chimney.
