there is a very old house just south on county k off east johnson street. its a very gothic looking house that i guess a man killed his wife and 2 kids before taking his own life. i warn you now just driving past it gives you a bad vibe. its been abandoned since this has happened. i also warn you that if you check it out DO NOT go onto the property!!! within 2 minutes of going there we tripped the motions sensors in the back yard, by the time we got to the back of the house a fdl county sheriff was already there. this place is EXTREMELY guarded. there are motion sensors in back, cameras cover every inch of the property, and theres door alarms on every door. we went with a group of six, myself and 2 others got out in time but the other 3 got fined and one got arrested. they had pictures on the sheriffs laptop of us, we had no idea there were even cameras. check it out at your own risk

I have lived in Fond du Lac for the last 20 years, and have never heard anything about the house on county trunk k until a caller mentioned it during Coast to Coast AM while George Noory was interviewing Chad Lewis on 8/4/08. Chad had no knowledge of this house.
I've been interested in the paranormal for several years, and have been an avid listener to Coast to Coast AM since the days of Art Bell. I asked one of my co-workers, who also lives in Fond du Lac, the next day and he told me of the same story that was the start of this thread.
I told this story to my girlfriend Kris and our daughter Sami when I got home. Kris knows of my interest in the paranormal, but chooses to stay as far away from the subject as possible. But this peaked her interest being as close to home as it is. As I was getting ready to go to work in the early afternoon of Wednesday, Kris and Sami got a couple of friends together and told me that they were going ghost hunting. I told Sami to take her digital camera along and get a few pictures for me.
They drove out to the house and parked along the side of the road. Not more than two minutes passed by that a FDL County officer drove past them. They stayed in the car, so he just drove on. Sami got a couple of pictures, one of which shows an entity in the front yard of the property. If you would like to see this, I will have Sami upload it to this site.
All I know is they have this property more secured than Fort Knox for some reason. If there is anyone that can shed some light on this mystery, feel free.

darkman,
I have enjoyed your posts, very rivitting.
I am on a long 3 day weekend, and on Sunday plan to go on a paranormal road trip. I'm starting out at the house on county trunk k in Fond du Lac, followed by witch road and Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake.
I am a paranormal magnet for some reason unknown to myself. I had a family member that passed away six hours prior, visit me before his journey to the beyond. I also had a co-worker that was killed in an industrial accident, fully manifest himself ten years after he was killed.

I live in fond du Lac and yes there is a house on K. It is now owned by a doctor from here an I know for a fact that he will allow noone on his property and he said he will never sell it. Many people claim to have seen apparitions around the house I believe that this is the shadows from the trees working on imaginations, trust me I a a die hard paranormal investigator and nobody stands a chance there mainly cause the house has fallen into ruin and its very dangerous. As for the stories of the murders I belive they are just urban legend. If you would like to know more about Fond du Lac ghosts or legends just let me know

cadavermangler,
Thanks for clearing that up for me. Iv'e talked to several people about it, and get conflicting reports. I've driven past there a few times during day and night, and can undersand how urban legends can begin. It looks like it was a beautiful home in earlier years. Do you know how long it has been abandoned?
Could you give me information on other sites in the Fond du Lac area? Thank you.

Thank you for the information. With the season turning to fall, it allows more time to investigate paranormal sites. Do you know of any stories from Rienzi Cemetery?

My uncle use to work for the Milwauke Police and photographed crime scenes for the Jeffrey Dahmer Case. And almost every other murder and ect. He still has all the photos and shown me them when I was old enough. He had nightmares for years after one case.

Not that I'm aware of. However, I did think of another spot......There have been at least three people that I know of that have jumped to their death from the observation tower in Columbia Park, which is North of FdL in Pipe.[/quote]
I believe one of the suicide victims at Columbia Park was Dr. McBride's daughter.

Besides being interested in the paranormal, i am a history buff and want to share some info on this house that i have found out. [glow=red,2,300]The house was built in 1854 for a Colonel Eilhu Phillps, who was a state senater for the area at the time.[/glow] I did go near the house with some people during the day and 3 people saw on the upperlevel of the homestead saw a black human figure look out the window and back way slowly when we looked. If i can figure out how to post some pictures i will share them, i looked over the picture and did not see anything out of the norm, if you see anything let me know. Besides the human shadow figure we just had an uneasy feeling around the land and the house. We were there for about 15 min and no cops ever came by, i guess we were lucky!

Way cool pictures. Even during daylight the house looks menacing. Although boarded up, I'm sure someone could get into that place. You would think a forestry service would cut the shrubs down around the place. Anyone going at night, please take pix and post. The next full moon is Nov. 2nd, and of course the day before (11/1), Day of the Dead. I would imagine something would be captured on film at that time. Carol

Carol I am sure of it that someone could get in, i don't know if at one time a homeless person was living there but some one from my group looked into one of the unboarded windows and saw an old dust covered can beans unopened, and a fork laying on the table as if they left in a hurry, so that even deepens the mystery of the old Phillps Homestead.
