Hey darkman - I just copied this from the "WIX Haunted Wisconsin Website" here: www.hauntedwi.com/HauntedWisLocs/PortageChurchRoadCemetery.htmDriving Directions: From Portage, follow Hwy 16 (west). Take a left on Industrial Road (south) then take a right on Hwy O (west). Continue on Hwy O and take a right on Church Street (north). On this smaller paved road, the cemetery will be on the left marked with a small dirt opening and two small metal poles.
I can "sort of" find it using mapquest...I mean, I know where both Hwy 16 and O are located, but I'm guessing that "Church St" itself is too small to be shown on Mapquest. I've never been to Church Road Cemetary before, is it a good location?

Hi Darkman,
What I find helpful is to use maps.google.com to find certain locations. Without this, I would never have been able to find Springbrook Road a couple of weeks ago.

HEY - I want to recommend mapquest one more time...it does show church road - I just didn't follow O far enough... here, bring up this site: www.mapquest.com/and just enter "Portage" into the city field and "WI" into the state field and click "search" - you'll get a pretty wide version of the map of Portage, but use the "zoom" thingy on the left hand side of the map and zoom it to "city level" - then put your mouse anywhere on the map and you drag the picture...wait, it's hard to describe and I can just do it and post the link..... ok, here is the aerial pic of Church Road... www.mapquest.com/maps city=Portage&state=WI#a/maps/l:::Portage:WI::US:43.5392:-89.462502:city:Columbia+County/m:hyb:12:43.555798:-89.564637:0::/io:0:::::f:EN:M:/e if that doesn't come out as a "clickable link" in this post, copy it and paste it into your browser...you can see all of church road clearly and you can zoom it in closer if you want. edit...I just looked at the link, the whole thing didn't work - but copy the whole thing into your browser, you'll see what I'm talking about

Church Road is the first road that you come to past Maas Road to if you are going east on "O" towards Portage. It's great to have locations to check out that are within a close proximity to home. I am planning trips on the east side of Lake Winnebago at a few locations, and in the Oshkosh/Appleton area. But I am not going anywhere else before I visit Dartford Cemetery first. The book will be very helpful in getting a game plan in place before a trip.

I've never been to Dartford Cemetary, but have seen that episode of "A Haunting" about it....
I'm wondering if that kind of "publicity" has had a negative impact on the cemetary itself?
I mean - has anybody been there recently and if so, are there signs of any "vandalism" or anything like that? I'm just wondering if having an episode of a tv show based on Dartford Cemetary would bring more people to the place....and sometimes, "curiosity seekers" aren't very respectful of property.
ksmc2000, I'd be interested in reading about your experiences and impressions of the place after you've visited there!
