IF dream catchers worked, and trust me I'm an open person, I wouldn't be dreaming about blood, killings, and demon possession e. i. myself being the one possessed. But if you put your faith in something and understand it's energy you may be able actually keep the bad dreams at bay.
i dont know for sure if dream catchers work. as far as i know they dont but i have had one above my bed for almost three years because it was special to me but even though i still had it over my bed i still had bad dreams and my brother even got it from a shaman up in new mexico. maybe they only work for certain people. i dont know but there is still that belief.

i have dream catchers. i used to have a necklace one and it helped me so much. but it broke so i had bad dreams every nite. then i got one to put over my bed to help me but it didn't. So i'm thinking that dream catchers work alot better for me when i'm wearing them than them hanging over my bed

It was because it was over your heart. What you should have done was purify the dream catcher with sage and put it under your pillow or have against your heart, then put it back over your bed. An indian friend of mine had me do this and I've only had one nightmare since. Going on dreams they are a window into your subconscious emotions, thoughts, ect. buy a dream book or look up specific things that stand out to you. Colors, clothing, people things like that and know every person in your dream is YOU!

I had a dream where I saw a man in a cage and he was screaming for help. The cage started to shrink but he wasnt, he stuck his arm out to me trying to get free but he couldent escape and as I stood there watching him he got smashed by the cage and I could see and hear everything.
I've been making mandellas and dream catchers for over 20 years and know they BOTH are powerful medicine. Try some crystals as well. When my neighbor's granddaughter was in her teens, school and moving from Vegas back to Milwaukee caused her all sorts of problems including bad dreams.
She saw evil shadow people jumping on horses, then the horses fell down and died. All these bad dreams took place in the desert. I made her two dream catchers and a mandella, adding quartz crystals to each, plus purified everything with sage and cedar smudge sticks which I also make. She came to visit, and I gave her these items as a gift. She told me that she had less nightmares in a week and after a month or so, finally got peace of mind, was calmer and far less anxious.
One doesn't have to be American Indian for these items to work. A strong belief is very powerful medicine!

If you think about it even the greatest belief in something can be obscured if someone else comes into the room and touches something sacred even a horror movie can cause even the things with great good magic turn sour. Thing clearly how many times have you walked into your room with a bad feeling, anger, aggression, ect. The dream catcher thought inanimate still collects those feelings and may affect your dreams. It may be best to purify your room every week!
