I read a book called "Atlantis in Wisconsin" a few years back. It is a good book. It's about the Aztalan and the pyramids of Rock Lake in Lake Mills. It also talks about possible ties between the Indians that resided at Aztalan and the anchient people of Atlantis. The book brought up the possiblility that miners from Atlantis came to wisconsin to mine the Copper that was here. The book talks about a lot of interesting things about Wisconsin's history. Another interesting fact that the book brings up is about 2 effigy mounds at Devil's Lake State Park. On 2 seperate days each year (I think the equinox and the solstice) you can stand atop one of the bluffs and look down into the valley below to see the sunlight cast shadows off the effigy mounds. The shadows take the shape of the bear and the bird. Not sure where these effigy mounds are located or which bluffs you need to stand on or at what time to see, but it would obviously have to be sunny out. I would love to find out more about this and experience it first hand.

Interesting. I shall see about getting that book. If you wish to learn more about the Effegy mounds of Wisconsin, type in and search it. There are several web sites that talk about them and provide a mar of their exact location. The wife and I travelled a bit this past sumer and visited several of them.
