I was toying with the idea of getting an EMF detector for my trips around the state.
I bought a voice recorder, but as an amateur, would it really be a benefit for me, to get one?

That depends hawk on where you’re planning to go while traveling the state.
If your planning on seeing old grave yards, or battlefields then it would be interesting to see if your emf meter goes off where there is no electricity around.
I suggest that if you do bring it along to make sure the beeper is on off. Trying to get evps with the beeper going is going to be hard.
If you’re planning to visit historical homes, then you could not take the emf meter with you.
A emf meter will tell you where an electric wire is as well as a possible spirit. But you will need to be able to take the time to find the source of the reading. That might not be possible in public buildings.

Thank you Kathy & darkone. I've wanted to get one for months now, and I just wanted to know if it would really be worth my wild (as a professional amateur ghost hunter).
Thanks again for the advice.

personally i use the lutron digital emf detector. if you want to spend ALOT! you can get a trifield and even though they are very sensitive you have to watch a dial move to get a reading. the lutron is affordable with easy acurate readouts with no flasing lights or beepin to get in the way of evp's video or pics.

Sounds like what I'm looking at getting. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get it from?

Ghost-Mart.com carries them and i think they are $79.00 you might be able to find a similar model for maybe 10 bucks cheaper if you look around. the trifields range from 130.00- 200.00+ . there are cheaper models that are available also. 79.00 is a good price for the utron ive seen them being sold for 99.00

I agree, EMF detectors are a useful tool. However, not exactly a legend trip... Oh well, whatever.

But it is of import to a realistic legend tripper if ur only out for scares thats all ur gonna get. But if you want a real experiance i don't see why not go all out
