So last night, i was reading my new book called "Milwaukee Ghosts" and i got to the chapter about "Northside of Milwaukee - alot of restless souls". Well supposely the northside of town [alot of areas that are poor and crime areas] had a serial killer that killed between 1980 - to mid 90s. most of the crimes were happening to people of color and due to the fact it was the "ghetto" the city didnt do much about it. the stories barely made the newspaper and tv.
the killer was supposely never charged for the crimes even if the city knew who it might be. anyway, there are areas of where the victims were killed where people have seen ghosts. one report is of a woman who haunts an alley who wonders crying. when you approach her to see if she needs helps she disappears.
Another case is of a woman who was killed near her home and is seen wondering her backyard.
i also know of the ghost who wonders in the middle of the street on Villard and when cars see it --- they slam on their brakes thinking they are hitting a person....when they go to see if they hit someone or something there's nothing there.

"Milwaukee Ghosts" is an excellent reference book. I'm amazed how much local history goes on (like the Newhall House Fire), that you're never taught in school. I've always been a history buff, but since I started studying local ghost stories, I think my knowledge of local history has doubled (at the very least). Pretty cool. seems to be related to this story....the serial killer and the restless souls. Milwaukee confirms the Northside Serial Killer has struck again....this is pretty creepy. this hit the papers/news yesterday
Police tie 7th victim to serial killer's DNA
A Milwaukee police spokeswoman has confirmed a DNA link between a suspected serial killer and a seventh woman murdered in Milwaukee. Department spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz Tuesday morning said the State Crime Lab has linked the suspect's DNA to Florence McCormick, a slain prostitute who was found dead April 24, 1995 on Milwaukee's north side. McCormick's body was found inside a vacant home on the city's north side in the 600 block of W. Locust Ave., police said at the time the body was discovered. Workers repairing the house found the body of the 28-year-old in the basement. The home was boarded up, but a window was found broken, according to the 1995 Journal Sentinel news story. Neighbors said the red, 1 1/2-story frame home had been vacant for about three weeks. On Monday, authorities disclosed they had found the same DNA on five slain prostitutes and a teenage runaway. The suspect is at large. Like the five other older victims, McCormick was African-American. More DNA samples are being tested as the investigation continues. Schwartz said investigators have been receiving tips about other possible connections to the suspected serial killer on their tip line. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (414) 935-1212.
