is the well and shack anywhere near indian trail road??? I have a gazeteer and there is a path that connects indian trail to ringling road.If the well and shack is near indian trail you could just go down indian trail and it would be a shorter walk. When you were by the well and shack did you see train tracks on the other side of the river? I've been on amtrak myself 3 times already and we got on the train in the dells and we go past the areas of ringling road and church road cemetary. Bodies of water and electric give off spirits so maybe the river and lights from the trains and by the track give something off???

I checked the map and the well and shack are not right near Indian trail, the walk from there would probably about twice as far. Also some of the fields have barbed wire fences, not that you couldn't go under them, but it is definitely easier to get out there from Ringling. The train tracks are across the river but you can't see them. Maybe if a train was going by you would be able to see the train?

If you go there either at 1215p.m. or 545 pm. thats when amtrak goes through. that sucks that its not by indian trail. It must be closer to hilltop road.

We went to Ringling on Friday night, IN THE DARK. It was way creepier and it was pretty disorienting with all the new vegetation that has grown. We were there around 10:30pm. On the path out there it was really freakie getting further and further away from the road; not to mention there was a train going by across the river. The ground was rumbling, the wheels were skreeching and the whistle kept blowing. We also rustled up some deer (i hope it was deer) on there way out there. When we finally entered the woods it was really scary. I guess if I think about it I have never been hiking through dense woods at night before, nor do I know if it something I want to do again. All we had was one little flashlight. It was harder to find the well at night with all the leaves and such. When we finally made it to the well it felt like you were on an island; it was nice to be free from the brush. We never went back to the shack one of my friends was too scared and I was scared myself too. My friend that did want to go to the shack suggested that we wait by the well while he went alone. I told him no and that he was crazy; anyone who has seen a scary movie knows that you don't split up. That's when people start getting killed. It's only about 50-75 yards back from the well, but going that much further into the woods could have been a mile as far as I was concerned. It was scary. As well walked through the woods (there were 3 of us) I was in the back and I kept feeling so strongly that I was being followed, it was overwhelming. If something did happen there is no way you could run out of there. It is really slow going with all the downed trees branches and the ground covered by knee deep plants; Yes we did have wood ticks afterwards. Nothing paranormal happened but It was a completely different experience at night and now that everything has grown in. I will be going back, hopefully next time with more people.
PS on a side note having more people in a scary situation like this make you feel more safe but at the same time it presents a greater chance that someone will do something stupid, a larger group is more difficult to manage.

BE CAREFUL IF YOU GO TO RINGLING!!!
I went back with my best friend Jamie and her boyfriends son Kaleb on Thursday. Kaleb is 12 years old and he is always interested in hearing about my investigations and the different stories. It was his first legend trip and he enjoyed it very much. We didn't spend much time at the well and shack, but we did find an inscription on it that says "Henry E Ringling September 12 1934" We started searching for foundations or location of the house that would have belonged to Henry Ringling. No luck finding it, there were a few possible spots that could have been it, but no solid proof. Kaleb did how ever find what we are coining "Ringling Pond" out in one of the fields. It was about 100 feet across with a ring of huge boulders surrounding it. Most of the water is gone now. I believe that this pond was used as some sort of swimming hole back when the property was still in use. Now for the kicker. Be very careful if you go there right now after 1.5 to 2 hours of hiking in the fields and the woods, the 3 of us had a total of 16 wood ticks and 3 deer ticks (the ones that cause lymes disease) on us, and I am not exaggerating. If you go out there be sure to check yourselves very well afterwards.

once it gets humid here, the ticks usually die off. I would think by early july they should be gone. I still spray off on me everytime we explore in our lovely nature parks here.

Quote from ghostlygoddess666 in "Wisconsin Dells"
"Yes I grew up in the Dells but I currently live in the Milwaukee area, and I don't make my way back there too often unfortunately. To find the grave:follow the path until you come to the pillars and turn right so that you are walking straight towards the open field. Once you reach the field, turn left and continue walking along the outside of the woods. Walk until you see a path on the left leading back into the woods. It is a pretty wide path so you should have no problems finding it. The grave will be on the left side, off the path a little ways, near the Wisconsin Riverbank. It is pretty obscure; like I said, we literally stumbled upon while walking back from the riverbank. The headstone is small, rectangular, and says "Harrison" on it. Whatever it is was only 4 years old at the time of death. I have been out there in broad daylight several times and had a hard time finding it, especially with all the overgrown grass and weeds. I have been out there more times than I can count while I was still living there and other than finding the grave and feeling weird vibes, nothing else ever happened. Let me know if you find it and if anything of interest happens to you. I can try to find the picture I took of the headstone too if you'd like. I know it's a weird story and hard to believe, which is why I've been out there so many times to prove to the people I've told that it's real!!! "
Does anyone think that this would have anything to do with the legend? It definately spikes my curiousity; I want to go find that grave. Kindof odd that there is a lone young child buried out by the well and the shack. I want to know that real story of the history out there.
