We are returning to the Iowa Axe Murder house at the end of May. In many of our cases we seem to get stronger activity around the full moon. I am not sure if any of you have noticed that or not. This year we will be returning to the house for 2 days during the full moon. There are some experiments I would like to do on this trip. One of the things that had happened last time we were there was that the toys were knocked off the table around 3 am. I am hoping to lay in wait to see if this will happen again. Also I will never forget the figure I saw at the top of the stairs. That really creeped me out not to mention that while I was setting up the camera in the children’s room, a voice of a man told me to get out. It also was interesting that while Todd was laying out the cords and setting up, there was a man’s voice talking to him, more taunting him. (this was hard to clean up so I didn’t post it on my web site. For those who would like to read the story here is the connection to my site. To go to the story, the connection is on the bottom of the first page. oldsoul.webs.com/

I have noticed that around a full moon we get more activity. So we scheduled the house around that time.
Hopefully there will be more interesting stuff going on.

Is there any truth in the matter about the owner's of this location charge paranormal groups to come in and investigate? I had heard that this was the case and would like to hear from someone who has been there to investigate.

I had heard that this was the case and would like to hear from someone who has been there to investigate. I have not actually overnighted in the location, but it is true. I believe that they rent the house (hands you the keys, and the team just returns them in the morning.) At one point it was $60 per investigator with a minimum of $300. The money has been used for restoration of the home and upkeep on the town museum. (Or so the story goes.)

A lot of places charge ghost hunters to investigate a location. The Axe Murder house is inexpensive compaired to other locations. If you want to know the history of the location you can go on my web site and read my story that I have up there. You can also go to their offical Web site www.villiscaiowa.com/The price has changed a bit. For an over night it's 300 for 5 people any more then 5 it's 60 for each over the 5. On Friday and Saturday nights it's now 375 for 5 and 75 for each over the 5. I think there is a limit of 10 people. You get about 10 hours at the location which is nice. They do have short day time tours which has a guide, I am not sure if they have a evening guided tour, the house is rented by the nights.

I have been up in the air over this trend of charging paranormal groups to investigate certain locations. I guess it is the prerogative of the location to set down rules and yes, even set prices. I guess if it was free then there would be paranormal groups coming in from all over stampeding through the place. On the other hand, this home holds no real historical significance other than being the site of a horrific mass murder, and I don't think I could or would pay to ensure its upkeep.
On the other hand, one cannot ignore the amount of documented activity that has come out of the investigations of this location. That in itself would be enough for me to maybe want to pay the fee and set up experiments to see what really is going on in that house purely for scientific reasons. Problem is, it would take me more than one nights investigation to properly analyze and study what is going on, and that could get expensive.
Either way, I wish you all good luck with your investigation and look forward to seeing what you all uncover.
