Hey guys, I'm not sure if I'm just spooking myself out but for the past few days I've been hearing things when I'm trying to sleep. Normally I'll do a crossword puzzle and go to bed but lately when I get like halfway through the puzzle I hear something fall when I don't see anything fall. One night I thought it sounded like a pen fell off of my bed but the only pencil I had was in my hand. Another night I heard what sounded like my schoolbooks were picked up and dropped but when I looked over they were sitting undisturbed on my chair. After that happened I tried to fall asleep but it felt like there was a stream of air or something tracing my ear so it took me alot longer to settle down and sleep. I used to hear things above my bed but that stopped 2 years ago so I'm not sure why I'm starting to hear things again. I have two theories- One is that my sister recently moved out of our room so I re-arranged the setup of the room and I've heard remodeling can stir spirits sometimes. My other theory is that I bought this small desk for my room from a garage sale-the only problem with that theory is that I've already had the desk for a month or two so why would anything start up now rather than when I first got it? I'm just overall confused so any input would be much appreciated

I would first recommended trying to recreate the sounds. Close your bed room door, and have a friend or family member drop some stuff or walk around in a near by room. I would also recommend keeping a log (like a Journal) of weird noises or occurrences and when they happen. Additionally, it may help if you wrote down the first thought or emotion that came to your head when you record each entry.
If you notice the disturbances are happening at random times with no pattern, and there is no explanation for them you may have some form of haunting. The best thing to do in that case is try to keep a positive attitude. Lots of places have something paranormal going on, its best just to live with it and not let it bother you. However, if things get increasingly more bizarre or hostile, then you are going to need more help.

My best guess is something is trying to get your attention, it may have been a residual from the previous owners. But understand, and yes this is movie style, houses take in what ever happens in them deaths, lives, births, ect. But unless it's causing you physical pain, or makes you feel sick then it's nothing to worry about

i agree with starscream107, 1st try to recreate it or debunk it 1st. heres some questions you may want to ask yourself :
1]could be the neighbors? if you live in a side-by-side townhouse or in an apartment. it could be the neighbors
2]if its a house, it could be the house settling. i know that houses dont drop books and etc. but older homes tend to creek and make sounds on their own.
3]could the objects that may be falling on their own just may not be on an even surface?? which allows them to fall? this theory only applies to fallen objects of course
4]check to see if there are people outside who could be passing by your home making noises....
next, document what time this sort of thing happens...is it around the same time every night? if you expect its paranormal think about taking pictures , setting up a video camera to film in the area of the house or apartment where the noises are coming from and invest in an EVP...to record sounds.
