Long story short- I have an antique chalkboard in my den which hasn't been used by me or my 11 year old in years. There is no chalk in the house and I have the only key. I came home from work on night, went in den, turned on light which is under chalkboard, and my father's initials in his script (which he signed everything with these initials) with an XO (which is how he signed cards etc to me- he has been deceased 14 years. Next to this was the word (Daddy) in cursive but not in his handwriting. Below was a big " '56 (very smeared) with my old initials I used to sign everything before I married. Needless to say I was freaked out- happy- blessed to hear from him- but nothing like this has every happened before. No logical explanation- no one knows his initials, no one lives with me except my 11 yr old- any ideas? Any experiences w/ this? Was it simply a b-day message...I am totally weirded out but happy too. Just wondered if there is something in particular that others have correlated with a specific meaning- when you receive something so concrete as something in writing out of the blue with no rationale explanation. And why now? Any thoughts are appreciated. suelynn

Well, yes it is a great experience but rattles one's nerves a bit. I am not sad or disturbed by the event- just still shocked. I was wondering if anyone had "tangible" written words come their way by deceased folks...I am happy it happened but even those I have showed the board to are just deeply shocked as this was such an impossibility- as it is in my Dad's script. I will leave it there forever and figure out how to save it forever. I thought maybe a more tangible, concrete, physical writing such as this might have some meaning that others have experienced? Thanks for your reply- suelynn
