I see your hellhounds of Maridean hs been updated. I know there is a little town or township between Eau Claire and Durand named Meridean. Am I correct in assuming that these both refer to the same general location? Why the difference in spellings? Do you think this town of Meridean was named after the same Mary Dean in the story you posted?
Many people believe that the town was named for Mary Dean; however, we have not confirmed this. There is a really good information plaque at the boat landing that provides information on several versions of Mary’s death.
