I see your hellhounds of Maridean hs been updated. I know there is a little town or township between Eau Claire and Durand named Meridean. Am I correct in assuming that these both refer to the same general location? Why the difference in spellings? Many people believe that the town was named for Mary Dean; however, we have not confirmed this. There is a really good information plaque at the boat landing that provides information on several versions of Mary’s death.
