I'm just looking for a little bit of information, I have done a report on my website about a story called "Lavender Lilly" from Independence Wisconsin. its basically the same kind of roadside ghost story that everyone has heard before, A young woman gets killed on the side of the road walking home, and her spirit now walks along the road. if you pass her, and then look behind you she will disappear. There are many other parts of the story that you can read at my website. www.geocities.com/leapin420/Lilly.html OK, Here is my question, Have any of you heard about this story, or have even seen Lavender Lilly? I interviewed a lot of people from Independence, and they all told me the same story. But I tried looking for any info about it on the Internet, and found nothing. so the only information I got was from the interviews. ~Leapin~

So far, I have found several stories similar to the stories listed on your site. However, I have found a story stating that she is called lavender Lilly because the dress she had on when she died was lavender. I have also found that people recall her name as Lillian and I am in the process of checking out several versions of the last name that I have been told. I am also trying to find any news stories regarding this event.

Ya, In a few of the storys that I was told she was wearing a lavender dress, but since in most of the storys I heard she was wearing a white dress, That was the info I went with when writing the report. (Maybe I should add the part of the lavender dress in a side note?)
No one I talked to told me of the name Lillian, but as I think about it, Lilly probably would be short for Lillian, wouldnt it? Now I want to go back to that cemetery and check for names again!!!
Thank you for looking into this story for me, I am really interested in hearing what you find out!

The Wisconsin Paranormal Research Center investigated a case of possible spirit possession back in 2002 in Oshkosh. A young man appeared to be in a trance state when a female friend stopped by to visit him. She shook his shoulder to wake him. Still dazed, he turned to look at her, and said: "I’m Lilliette. Why are you in my house? I’m going to call the officials." After coming out of his trance, the young man was physically and emotionally drained; decided he needed a nap. He took a shower first before going to sleep. In the shower, a woman suddenly appeared. He said, "The woman was in her mid to late 50s, her gray hair pulled back, either in a braid or bun, wearing an old dress." He could see right through her, like looking through saran wrap. She kept asking him, "Why are you doing this to me?" He freaked out, of course. Went running back downstairs to tell his friend. All he could repeat was, "Lily was in in the shower with me -- Lily was in the shower with me." In that case, we presumed Lily was a variant -- a diminutive -- of Lilliette. The man couldn't distinguish the color of her dress, unfortunately. Richard Hendricks Weird Wisconsin www.weird-wi.com/
