Has anyone ever gone to several places in the Reedsville area such as the Pet Cemetary, Swamp Road or an abandoned farm? Years ago I had gone with fellow paranormal seekers and experienced alot of activity. The abandoned farm was investigated at the library and it was state owned at the time. Like any old delapitated building, it was rumored to be haunted: by a man who killed his lover and children before killing himself. Apparations have been seen of children playing in the farmyard and a ghostly dog roaming around the area. Apparently in the basement there was a door to a root cellar that would not stay closed, nailed shut or locked. Canned fruits and vegatables would rot quickly if placed in there by previous tenants...the door was nailed shut at one time and the next day all the nails were supposedly found on the floor. Of course these were just rumors, but it would be nice to investigate or take pictures at. I have been there but didnt drive that day, if anyone knows where it is, I would love to know. Thanks

As close to this area as what I grew up... I have never heard of this... and it has me curious now.
Mid-end of May I stopped at the old Catholic cemetery in Reedsville near what was formerly the active Catholic church (before the parish merger). I had walked around the small cemetery and looked at the old gravestones and the many wonderful statues.
This cemetery in Reedsville is across the street from the church. A quiet place, other than us being there the same day as a graduation party down the street that aparently was with too many young ppl... the cemetery was just an average old cemetery but with more HUGE statues than what one would expect for being that small.
And this was the same day as being at Kate Blood's cemetery plot again... and finding 2 other big Blood grave stones in the same cemetery. End of May if I remember right...
As for the pet cemetery in the Reedsville area where exactly is that place? Curious!

I am going to have to take a ride out that way to get road names. Like most wiscononites, I am one of those people that tell directions by saying "ok now, follow 10 west until you get to the last road before Reedsville that goes to the right...." Directions like that really suck. So I will try to update directions so others know what I am talking about. Pet Cemetary is back in the woods off a gravel road, really creepy anytime. If I remember correctly, there was even a horse buried there. I don't think it was private property, but it is not advertised like the on on Highway 29 near Pilsen/Poland.

wth? a horse buried there??? *sigh*
Well, may it RIP...
I have never been to a pet cemetery. Just the regular people type too many times. OH well, they need visitors too!
If you think of getting directions next time you are in the area that would be great!!
Thanks!

The times that I have been there, it is unsettling to say the least. It reminded me of the one on the movie without the big tower of branches. I looked! Anyways, it is a great place to visit if you want to spook.

Ok Directions...Take 10 west from Manitowoc to Reedsville. Turn North on Pleasent View Road. After the first stop sign you will be on a paved road (this was the gravel one I spoke of) It is still spooky as there are no homes on this stretch of road and as I quoted to my passenger "What a place to site a Bigfoot or other wierd creatures?" It is just a swampy tree lined stretch of road with small dilapitated shacks every once in awhile. When you come to the next stop sign you will be on the corner of Pleasent View and Marquette Road. Turn west and go about 3/10 mile. The road turns and you will see a small road with a dead end sign straight in front of you. Slowly go down the road, it is pot holed and not paved. About another 2/10 of a mile you will see an opening for the pet cemetery. BE VERY RESPECTFUL!!!! This is a pet lovers burial site. Unfortunately, the story I heard about the horse is untrue as we did not find any horse gravesite.
It is still creepy as it was years ago, and this was during the day. I recommend to try it at night. Sit outside the gates and watch, listen and feel. From memory I remember hearing very abnormal sounds...not owls or deer or cats. It reminded me of the stories about the giant birds and what they would sound like or something that was paranormal. I know many times sitting there and the whole car load getting so freaked out by the sounds that we had to leave. Even in the snow and ice, it would soud like there was something walking alongside your vehicle but when lights were shined to the area of the sound, nothing was there...no footprints, no animal but the sound would continue. Good freaking experience if you ask me.

As close to this area as what I lived many years ago and I never knew of it's existance.
It was tranquil and peaceful. Sad in it's own way... beautiful and small grave stones with the pet's name and year of birth and death. Even some had date of birth or death.
I just cannot imagine being there in the dark, walking around... even though it had it's own daytime beauty and serenity.
*sigh*

Ok here is a topic to ponder. When we explored last, we looked for the abandoned house I remember hearing about. We never did find it although we only had a little while to look. BUT we did notice three abandoned farms with houses. These were within a few miles of one another. Something off about this? I mean why are there so many abandoned farms in that area? Wouldn't the property be worth something? I guess maybe the owners don't want to deal with the buildings anymore and are just renting the farmland. But what a great mystery it is to think about why they stand decaying in the breeze. We found these by turning left out of the gravel road from the pet cemetery, going straight across W (I believe we were traveling north) Two were on this road (I think we were still on Marquette, I didn't look at the road sign after we crossed W) and one was on a side road after we turned east (between Taus Rd. and Hwy 10) I certainly am not saying these are or are not haunted, just interesting to see three abandoned places within a few miles from one another. Sorry if I don't have complete information on the road names. We were running really short on time and didn't get a chance to turn around to look. Maybe soon. Anyone else have info about this?
