I was born and raised in Eau Claire WI . I have lived in two homes that are haunted. The first one is on Madison St. about a block away from hilltop tavern the second on Birch St about two blocks away from hilltop tavern. Both homes within three blocks of each other. The first house is a duplex upper and lower. We lived in the lower. I hated that house. I never felt safe there. I was about ten years old when we moved there.I am now 29. This is the most terrifying thing that has ever happened to me which is probably nothing compared to things other people have had happen to them. It was Easter Sunday and I was sick so my parents and my younger brother went to church up the road without me and then would be right back after service. I was asleep and woke up with a feeling of terror and diarrhea. My feeling of terror was overriden by my desire not to crap my pants. So I grab my bb gun and go to the bathroom. I had never taken my bb gun with me to the bathroom before this. I'm glad I did. I locked the hook latch on the door. I had not even sat down on the toilet when it started. I could hear the cupboard doors and the drawers in the kitchen in the next room all opening and being slammed shut at the same time. That kitchen has at least twenty cupboards and ten drawers floor to ceiling. I was so scared I could not move or do anything. Then It started on the bathroom door. The door sounded like someone was hitting it with both fists. The hook latch was jumping up every time it was hit so close to coming unlatched. It was like someone else was talking when I yelled that I had a gun. I had a bb gun not exactly a premium form of self protection. A bb gun does work as an excellent tool for breaking out a bathroom window. So I break out the window, climb out and run with my bb gun. I only ran for about twenty feet when I saw my neighbor outside talking with another neighbor. They looked at me like they didn't know what to think. I was standing in my driveway with a bb gun, that looks like a rifle, crying. They had been talking in the street facing our house and saw noone come in or out . They got some of the other neighbors together and searched the house but found nothing. All the cupboard doors were closed and the bathroom door was still locked. I then put on some clean shorts and played down by the train tracks. Now don't get me wrong just because I didn't see anyone and my neighbors didn't see anyone doesn't mean this wasn't just some not a very nice person that broke into our house and I just happened to be there. Either way it scared the hell out of me and I will never forget it. I friggin hate that house.
