Witch's (Callan) Road in FDL, WI

Ok, so I've been to Witch's road a few times now with a few friends, and more than one experience. The best one we have had, I had the experience.

We were driving down Callan Rd. with my video camera out the window recording. Now mind you, some video cameras such as mine can take still pictures, well mine did... on it's own. As soon as it took the still picture, we stopped the car. I had gotten out with a flashlight to see what had happened, and what did I see but a cross hammered into the ground. We stuck around for a little while to see if anything else would happen, nothing... As we were leaving, we asked for a sign of presence, and at the same time, all of our phones rang "Private." When we all answered, we heard nothing but dead air.

It was kind of cool, tell me what you think, or if you have had any experiences in that area. ;D

I have gone to Witch Road a few times, in hopes to see this little girl people have claimed to see. I had never seen or experienced anything, but I did locate the house. It was had a tree fallen over it and brush was grown over the broken walls and windows.... there was also a lot of fog from a stream or pond nearby (which I had also located during the day). I had also located the tree with the image inside of it. It personally reminds me of an imp, or a creature similar to that.

I had told my friend the stories of Witch Road, and he and I decided it would be fun to go again and see if we could possibly see anything. There were TONS of fireflies in the fields and woods-which could potentially explain why "strange" lights have appeared. The two of us were driving down the road, searching for the house through the trees. It was raining out so we pushed off getting out of the car. We had stopped at a particular area near the pond/stream, and thought we heard something moving in the woods not far from us. We did not see anything, however and did not think much of it, but did not let that go and shined a flashlight into the woods to see if we could spot an animal or something...we hoped for a little girl

As we took pictures and shined the light, I had received a phone call (and took the call). All of a sudden my camera said "Memory Card Full." As I got ready to hang up my phone and delete some pictures to take new pictures, my friend (sitting closest to the woods/holding the flashlight towards the woods) noticed something moving in the woods. He stated, "It just ran away from the flashlight when I hit it with the light. It was a brown solid...thing!" He claims it was not a dear, but did not have any idea what it could have been. Seconds later, the sounds of brush rustling became VERY noticeable and we clearly heard something moving quickly towards us. Something called something out to us at the same time. It was a deep voice-a mans maybe-but we could not make out what it said. It sounded like a grumble/growl almost, but it was definitely a voice - there is not a doubt in my mind.
Needless to say I gunned it out of there because whatever it was, it did not sound friendly, and we didn't want to stick around to see what that was!

I know this sounds unreal...really it feels that way. But we definitely cannot erase having heard that noise.

could of been a bear, theres a lot of bears sighted by mauston and hillsboro.

How close to the road, is the house?

Well there are 2 different houses back there. I think the one that they are talking about is the one that is said to be the old witch's house. The one with the tree down over it is only about 30 - 40 feet off the road.

There is another house type structure back by the barn. There is question as to what this building actually is or was. If you read the Witch Rd blog, someone reported there that the building has a bunch of rooms that are similar to cells, I would love to find out what the use of this building was.

yeah, the first picture is the house i've been to a number of times -- and its not far from the road.

and i'm not sure about there having been a bear in the woods or not. It doesnt explain the noise that we heard...which was definatly not bear (I've seen and heard plenty of them)..
but really you never know i guess. We very possibly could have let our imaginations run wild with the noise we heard

Either way it was definatly bone chilling at the time

That couldn't of been a bear period.. Depending on the season, but as I can see it was snowing so. More then likely, bears were in hibernation.

no. she said she seen tons of fireflys which cannot survive out in winter it COULD hsve been a bear but ive never heard of bears in that area. or why a bear would bonzi charge a car.

the noise was unlike a bear too...or wolf or any creature you might find in wisconsin that i've heard. and it was tall.
who knows - it would definatly be worht checking out again

I was at Witch Road in September of 2008 at night and encountered a possible hellhound running right along the side of my car. It was much more vicious than any domestic animal I've ever seen.

I've heard recent reports that the Beast of Bray Road werewolf creature has returned to the Wisconsin countryside.
