It seems nearly everyone is familiar with Haunted Deadwood, but have you heard of the ghosts of at the Craze Horse Memorial, Mt. Rushmore Cemetery, and Bear Butte in Sturgis? Probably not, which is why we did the SD Road Guide, and now we want to hear your stories when you visit these places.

when i went to the Washington pavilion in Sioux Falls i was volunteering and i heard footsteps by the elevator.i also kept feeling like i was being watched.there was a lady who left the elevator told me to tell the person in charge that the projection of a man in the elevator was great. i was kind of shock at that because there was no projector in the elevator. later that night i was helping a man with a stroller into the elevator when i had a felling the i was being watched so i look up and saw a man in the elevator. i didn't think much of the man so i looked away at the man i was helping. he thanked me then i looked to where the other man was he was gone.he chould not have left the elevator because i was standing in the doorway the entire time.

One of the things Laurie and I have been learning about is the number of ghost stories associated with the Homestake Goldmine in Lead. One of the things we never knew was the number of deaths associated with the mine. There is a memorial in Lead to all of the dead miners over a period of about 100 years. There are easily over 500 names on the monument. It didn't take a lot of chatting with the locals to start hearing second hand accounts of apparitions in the mine shafts. Now this is defintely not a publicly accessible area but, if the opportunity should ever show up, you know I'm interested. boomingprairiechicken.spaces.live.com/
