The third week in November, 2009, four of us did an investigation of the Miramar Theatre on Milwaukee's east side.
The owner wasn't in attendance but a bar manager Sean showed us around. We checked out the dressing room on the second floor and got EMF spikes constantly. Here we left a tape recorder set for 60 minutes. Pictures were also taken.
We checked out the basement next, and nothing registered on EMF meter or digital camera. Our next focus was the stage area on the first floor. One of our investigator's went down a short hallway to the left of the stage and immediately got orbs on her digital camera. Pictures were also taken with 35mm film. One area Sean didn't like was the other short, dark hallway to the right of the stage. EMF meter was going off constantly and there were cold spots here. Again pictures were taken both with 35mm and digital, yet nothing was caught on film. A voice activated tape recorder was set up in this area.
Our next focus was the stage and seating areas. Lots of EMF meter activity and of course pix were taken. Orbs showed up all over on digital camera, and there were many cold spots.
The building dates to 1913 with a history of actors performing on stage over the years. We concluded that an older woman by the name of Mary haunts the dressing room. This was based on questions asked at the time of EMF meter spikes in that area and the stairway. There is also a younger female with her. A former stage hand or manager haunts the stage area and short hallway on the right. Voice activated tape recorder picked up a very deep voice grumbling. The tape recorder in the dressing room only had one EVP of a woman saying "Come this way."
One of our male investigators lives the Native American life, and brought a drum with him. Very unusual and unique to an investigation. We sat down and he drummed. The temperature of the area became warmer during drumming, and we got Indian names and several strange words.....like "where are the toys kept?" and "no where to go." We are still trying to analyze this.
Besides orbs on digital camera, they also showed up on regular 35mm film in the basement, the dressing room and in the stairway off from that. On stage, directly in the center where the EMF meter was running rampant, I have a vertical spiral wave in colors of lavender, off white and dark green. The film was developed at Ritz Camera Shop, Bayshore, and even their employees could not explain this.
The female ghost by the name of Mary may be the original founder of the Milwaukee Rep from back in 1954. She had remarried and moved to New York and that's the last I know until I do further research at UWM Archives library per the Milwaukee Rep Marketing Dept. I spoke with. The younger female may be her daughter.
Again, another haunted theatre that has a few loose strings needing attention. If anyone knows about this Mary Widrig John, please let me know. Also, the number 43 came up. Nothing conclusive when asked if it meant a birthday, year of death, age or address. Further checking needs to be done on this.
