Has there been reported ghostly activity in Menasha on Valley Road? That is about a mile or 2 from my house. Can anyone give me any details, so I can keep a look out in this area?

According to the story, about 100 years ago a young groom was killed on the way to his wedding. His carriage was in an accident on Valley Road in Menasha, and he was thrown into a tree and strangled to death by his own bow tie. On certain nights you're supposed to be able see his spectre dangling from a tree.
I've driven up and down Valley Road several times. My understanding is that Valley Road east of Hwy 47 is technically within the Appleton city limits, so I focused on the western stretch of the road which is within Menasha.
The only tree that overhangs the road is the one on the north side of the road directly across from Saint John's Cemetery. Do you know where I'm referring to? I'm speculating that this is where people have allegedly seen the apparitions.
Do you have any additional information about the legend? Have there been any articles about it in the local newspapers?

It is my understanding that this incident occured further down the road near a small park and the old police station. A classmate of mine died in a car accident near that cemetery, by the curve. Also there is a dead end road near there along the lake shore that has had reported sightings of apparitional Native American pow-wow type activity. I have found nothing to verify either of these myself.

I have driven down that road many many times and I never heard about it ever being haunted before until now. But now that I have, it definatley makes a lot of sense now on why I have had many weird feelings around that place, especially at the turn. [/size][/b]
