I live in Elkhart Lake which is just 6 miles out side of Glenbeulah. I have been hearing more and more about the graveyard but I don't know what happened exactly. Okay, here is what i have heard *There have been redish-white people wandering about *There is a house with someone living in it *Someone was hung there and their head rolled down the hill into town *There are numerous graves split right down the middle *It was, at one point, the third most haunted place in the world *Police sit there from 8pm until 8am dai,y Okay, I don't know what is or is not true but i would like to sort this out. Could you please help? Another thing to har about is the glenbeulah school house.

Hey Chad, I have been very interested in visiting the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Glenbeulah for quite some time now, and have spent hours searching the web for the address, or street name of the cemetery. Thank goodness your new book came out! We decided to take the trip down to Glenbeulah this weekend to visit the "Glenbeulah Graveyard" following the directions that you gave us in the book, Needless to say we found it no problem! The only thing that I felt I needed to let you know is where it says "Right on Apple St", The name of the street is actually "Appleton". But that wasn't a problem for us, we figured it out. LOL ;D But another thing I felt I need to share with you, (and everyone else) is that the cemetery is now blocked off! Right in front of the little road that takes you up the hill, there is now a big steel fence that is chained and padlocked. On the fence are two signs that say "ROAD CLOSED, By order of Village Board" & "NO TRESPASSING, Violators will be Prosecuted, By Village Board". But yet a short distance away a sign is still up stating that cemetery hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., So I was wondering if it may be a seasonal thing and hopefully the cemetery might be opened to the public again next spring? If you or anyone else knows, please let me know. I am really interested in visiting this cemetery and was heartbroken that after driving for an hour to get there, we couldn't even get in.

In reply to the last post the cemetary is open daily until dark. And I think it was opened at 7:oo in the morning. I have recently went there and am currently doing a project (movie) based on this cemetary. In my experiences there I mostly have only witnessed very loud noises while in the cemetary.

Well then my question for you is, how recently where you there? I was there yesterday (Sunday, Nov. 7th) and the fence was closed and padlocked. The sign stated that the cemetery was open from 7 a.m. till 7 p.m. We were there at 4 p.m. Thats why I was wondering if maybe the cemetery closes for the winter, or maybe it is closed on Sundays, or for the weekend? If the cemetery is open daily during the week, then that is good news, I'll just have to find a way back down there during the week. All I wanted to do was spend a little time in there, take a few pictures, get a few readings, and get a feel for the place.

;DI live in Plymouth, which is about 10 mins. away from the cemetery. Macie, Tyler and I went to the cemetery at about 3:00, there was the big fence with the ROAD CLOSED sign but we just got out of the car and walked up there. There is a sign that says NO STOPPING, STANDING, PARKING! When I finally stepped into the cemetery one of the neighbors dogs started to bark frantically for like 5 mins. There are many tombstones knocked over and split in half. They have some tombstones with little fences around them and some are secluded. It isn't very big but you do get a creepy feeling.
When my friend Miranda went there she went during the night and she said she didn't see anything but when it seemed like people were right in front of her no one would be there.
I hope this intriques you into this story more its little info but I love that place. I know people who have stories to tell so i'll be writing back soon! ;D

ok,ok. let me clear this up for you guys.
the graveyard is blocked off year-round. they do allow people to go up there though. not allowing people to go into a cemetary is illegal for obvious reasons. the reason for the blocking is so that no cars or other automobiles go up there, ever. it is open from 7-7 weekly. you said there was a dog that kept barking when you went up there? it has nothing to do with the graveyard, the dog's name is amber, and she is just loud and obnoxious.
in the graveyard there are a lot of trails and family gave sites. i have never actually gone down a trail, but if one of you ever do, i would love to know

I am glad to hear that it would be legal to walk to the cemetary, years ago (1999) I was able to drive right into the cemetary to take pictures. Why did they block off the road? I hope to be able to explore again via foot soon to take pictures and video. This cemetery is rather spooky and my sixth sense picked up very restless vibes. There is a young female that is lost on the west side of the cemetary...she is frightened and does not know what to do. She will stand near a big tree and peer at you.

Hello all, This is my first post on this site having just found it. Myself and a few others are planning to perhaps visit Glenbeulah Cemetery this weekend and would like some advice? In addition, if anyone else is interested in joining us, please let us know. Were from Sheboygan County (south of the city of Sheboygan). I'll post back after we visit with what we saw.......or didn't see

Well last Friday night a friend and I went to the cemetery. We finally arrived at the opening of the cemetery at about 1:15am. We walked a ways into the cemetery and spent all of about 1/2 hour there being silent but didn't really experience anything out of the ordinary.
We plan on a return but going to the other ends of the cemetery with hopes something happens.
All in all I must say that is a pretty erie place to be. I felt a tight chest but I blame it on a little anxiety being where we were.
If I return I will keep you all posted!

We went!!! Yeah Yippee!!! It was great. Although I want to know what happened to the parking area that was there back in the late 90's. When I used to go there, I went with a friend who had a very large four door car much like a grand marqui. We would park sideways in a parking area to view the cemetery. If I didnt know any better, I would have said at this last visit that there never was a parking area...but I know there was. When you ascended the hill, right after the last turn there it was. Just past the trail to the watertower, but before the posts. There was room enough to park a couple cars. My friend with the large car never did a Y-turn, he would just swing the car around in a partial U-turn....now the road is so narrow it would be hardly be possible for any car to do a U-turn. I also remember once going with a group in two vehicles and being able to park side by side in this parking area...it did not face the cemetery, it faced the watertower thus you were seeing the cemetery to your right. I just found this strange. I took pics of where the parking area should have been. The trees are far older than 5-8 years. Foliage I can understand, but these are mature trees at least a foot in diameter and standing several stories high. Go figure. Anyone else ever been up there when there was a parking area?
Not anything very notable came out on the pics, but on the center road I kept feeling a presence. It was near a gravesite of an Ellie May...I had even commented to my friend about the name...and whoosh I got a pressure feeling like someone was right in front of me. I went back and forth, walked around and came back to the area. Whoosh there it was again. I just kept snapping pictures...several of which have a noticable tree branch with blue leaves on them right in front on the road (like I was standing behind a bunch of branches.) Yes blue. I was not standing in front of a branch when I snapped these. I was on the main road....no overhangs and they arent on the rest of the pics taken of the same area. Just weird. I wanted to see a mist or an orb, possible a black shadowy figure in the background. No, I got ghostly leaves(haha). I really don't think that quialifies for a bonafide ghost picture, but I know something was there. Odd how these things happen...I want to go back and do video also. This place still intrigues me so much. I hope others comment on anything notably wierd there.

Hello Runner, My name is Kyle. I am the Founder of a Paranormal Research Group based in Sheboygan, WI. We are called WISP - Wisconsin Independent Society of the Paranormal. If interested, please take a look at our website at www.w-i-s-p.net I will be posting a synopsis of this particular Cemetery on my website by the end of next week. This will include a virtual tour of the location (from video) as well as audio on the history and folklore. Let me answer some of your questions as best I can. What you have posted is accurate, except for the statement that this location is the third most haunted location in the world. This is hardly the case. The Cemetery is available to public access between 7am - 5pm. You WILL be ticketed if you deviate from these hours. Furthermore...if you wish to view this site, be prepared to park at the bottom of the hill leading to the Cemetery. At the entrance, there is a sign that reads...No parking, No standing, No this and that. I need to look at the photo I took last weekend, but bottom line is this.......There is nowhere to park in the Cemetery and Glenbulah doesn't want anyone there. I have recently contact what the town refers to as the "Key Keeper" of this Cemetery to perform an investigation after Cemetery closing. Most will never be afforded this chance as they want to keep people out. Why? I have visited this Cemetery twice. The last time being last Sunday. The first was back in 1989, when I was a Junior in High School. The stories on this location ran rampant and I do know that while exaggerated some were true. There were supposed Satanists and Black Witches who flocked to this site. There were also pranksters and drunken kids who vandalised the cemetery. The site is actually in a state of disarray. There are plots that date from the 1850's to 1986. Several headstones are split open and are sun bleached and erroding. The cemetery is surrounded by a thick wooded area. When I last visited it was noon on a bright, humid day and the site was still gloomy. The wind rustles the leaves and animals in the forest make noises all around you. It is clear to see how someone walking this cemetery at night could become spooked and believe that an already dissolving headstone is splitting open before their eyes. There is also a story of a building located back in the woods. I looked and couldn't find one. There are several houses at the bottom of the hill leading to the Cemetery. I believe individuals may be catching a glimpse of these homes. Also....I was perplexed to see two trails (most wouldn't even recognize them) that run into the woods. If followed...they will lead you to a pair of gravesites from the mid 1850's. They are basicallt set in the middle of nowhere. I performed EVP work at these sites and caught nothing. The Cemetery is old and would make for a great setting for a horror movie. Even in the light of day, this site gives off a feeling of creepiness. I love this particular site because of its unique qualities and folklore. It is without a doubt one of the top two talked about cemeteries in Wisconsin. Again...please view www.w-i-s-p in about a week to view video and history on this location. Take care, Kyle

It's the ones that vandalize these sites, that makes it difficult for the rest of us that would just like to investigate activity.
