We will probably be there Sunday/tomorrow or Monday...
should I wonder what I can do to get banned too? *laughs*
As many times as we have been to the Dells, I have not been to this place... watch this be a *my son and I* thing and husband and daughter go mini-golfing or something!
I guess I did not realize this was the only posting on this board on this place.
Edit: I just called there. The lady said they are mainly opened on weekends and due to everything building out (of the city/downtown area) and the huge hotels having *it all* that you don't even have to leave... business is slow and this might be their last year. Opened seasonally only. So I guess for us, Sunday is the day to go.

Pretty much everything in the Dells is "open seasonally". Most touristy businesses close down for the winter sometime in late September or early October. They are mostly on "weekend only" hours now. It's the way it's been since I can remember, having grown up in the area and being older than dirt. As I recall there have been at least 2-3 Dungeons of Horror or Wax Museums there, though I have no IDEA what on earth relation they have to the Wisconsin Dells. I still can remember working at Indian Joe's Leather Shop on Broadway one summer (now "Wisconsin Dells Fudge", I think) and having a Tussaud's Wax Museum complete with a guy in a Beefeater costume and English sheepdog (a real one!) out front. I always wondered what they were thinking???!
Of course, it makes as much sense as wall to wall fudge shops do...

Lots of the newer hotels that are HUGE have indoor water parks and are open year around! Some of them have a few restaurants and stores and you don't have to leave there much if you really did not want to!
The Dungeon of Horrors was closed on Sunday when we got there in the afternoon for a bit. Then re-opened at night. Monday it was open... the gal was a student from Bulgaria and I loved her accent! The lady who I talked to the few days before that said they are not having a lot of business as for the new *scary* places and their place has been there for a long time... and ppl were not coming back and going to the new places and they were hurting.
What I learned a few years ago... a lot is now open until Columbus Day -- maybe a little less hours, and open on weekends for long hours, but they don't shut down as early, unless it's a place like Noah's Ark or water and outdoor related (Tommy Bartlett Water Show too).
There are tons of businesses that are there and I wonder why... other than it probably appeals to the kiddies of the universe. *rolls eyes* I remember the days when the place had more Indian related businesses and was not like how it is now... and not as many chain restaurants either.
I guess a Home Depot or something is being built there? And perhaps a Wal*Mart too or similar (near the old dog track).
For a city of less than 3,000 for their regular population... it lives! Even in the winter I have had to wait at a stop light and not get thru! I guess, even in the winter (a few years ago) I had to chizel my way into an ice covered car... as we spent New Years there!
