Hi, I just had a couple of questions. First of all, I pass by a couple of cemeteries on back country roads every night on my way to pick up my husband from work. These cemeteries are not marked, small, (I'd guess one might be a family cemetery) and are in Jefferson and Columbia counties. I tried looking online for listed cemeteries in the counties, but couldn't find these. The locations are listed for the ones on the net, so I know these were not on the list. Well, I am not the type of perosn that gets spooked easily. I have always been interested in the apranormal since I was a child. I guess my curiosity is not as common as most people, but I get the creeps whenever I drive past these cemeteries. At least one in particular. I aslo get chills down my spine on other areas of the road throughout my 45 minute journey (one way), but I'm not sure if it's related to the cemeteries or not. Plus, I'm not sure if it's my mind playing tricks on me or not etiher. I have not seen anything, only felt uneasy. Almost like someone is in the back seat riding along. Ahh, there go those chills again, just thinking about it Well, does anyone else experience these "feelings"., or have an explanation for them? Also, does anyone know of how I can find out about these cemeteries? I'd appreciate any helpful insight.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunatley the unnamed cemeteries in the county list the locations by using the old style, site and block numbers, etc. Oh well. I did get directions to the Church Rd Cemetery through that site. I'll keep doing some looking. It's got me going now

Hi Leadfoot. I do not believe that you are alone in the feelings you get when you pass the cemeteries. I often get that feeling to, but only certain cemeteries. Maybe, you are what is considered a sensitive. It might be worth checking into.

I get the same feelings. Not all the time. For some reason I sometimes feel comfort and peace. Is that weird? Although sometimes I am definitely uncomfortable and can feel so much energy. Sometimes it's in areas where I dont think a cemetary is even nearby. I usually get sort of uneasy on hwy 178 up by Jim Falls and up into Cornell. ****Also, I want to mention a haunted church and cemetary in Amery. I read about it I believe in Haunted America. A friend of mine and I went up to check it out. We talked to the Pastor and she told us of some strange things that happen there and allowed us to walk around the graveyard. Nothing strange happened while we were there. It's a cool place though if anyone is ever up in that area. I'll see if I can find the name of the church if anyone is interested.

Well, Forest Home Cemetery in Fifield (near Park Falls) has been featured on Unsolved Mysteries. During the month of April and May (when the ground begins to thaw) there are reputed to be blue or white orbs rising from the ground. It's orgins are interesting as well, including some disturbed gravesites, some that have been moved over the years, and more. Anyone who wants detailed info can email me. I've also got photos with orbs in them, though not the kind you can supposedly see in April without a camera. I've visited there seven times in the last two years, six of them between 8-12pm. There are always some strange feelings I get from the place, sometimes very peaceful, while other times very sad or disturbing. Among the interesting graves there are loggers from the 1800's when Fifield was the county seat, and a bustling town. Interesting history, interesting inscriptions on the stones. -Mike

I have been told that those tiny cemetaries that are out in the middle of nowhere are meesle cemetaries and the lucky kids in 4H have to go out to keep them up every so often. creepy They burried everyone that died from it together and had one person overseeing the burial and they had to be quaranteened afterward for a long time.

There are listings of hauted cemetaries and hospital morgues what about funeral homes or nursing homes? Has anyone asked a funeral director about such a thing around here? So many of them are old and passed down from one generation to the next I would think someplace like that would be crawling with paranormal activity or am I just paranoid and weirded out by the whole death thing?

Dee your spelling is atrocious! Anyways…Chad Lewis has a whole investigation that talks about the reputed phenomena of Forest Home Cemetery. Unfortunately, Mr. Lewis did not experience any paranormal activity there. The very history alone suggests that the cemetery has to be haunted! Many of the graves in the cemetery have been moved from the town at the bottom of the hill. In the early logging days Fifield rapidly grew in population, forcing the townspeople to make room for the expansion. The graves had to be moved to the current location, on the top of the hill where the cemetery is now. Some of the headstones may have been moved without the bodies beneath them, or the headstones are placed over the wrong body. The orbs have been documented on the show unsolved mysteries, but I haven’t seen that episode in years that featured it. The common explanation is methane or swamp gas rising from the ground, possibly given off by the decomposing bodies. A word about asking Funeral directors about haunted mortuary. I don’t believe a ghost would inhabit a funeral home. Just because it is a place where the dead are prepared and or displayed, I don’t think there is any real spiritual attachment to that place, unless it happens that a previous owner of the home is haunting it, in which case it doesn’t matter that it’s a funeral home, or whatever it is, because that’s sort of beside the point. Although being a funeral home does give a haunted home an added creepy feel. Most funeral directors probably aren’t open to discussing this topic. I would think it to be extremely unprofessional for a person in the death care business to be going around talking about ghosts. Just my opinion.

Only the first line was meant for you. Sorry if I offended you in any way, I guess when I was like 10 years old I probably spelled horribly too. I was actually just posting more information about a previous post. Like if anyone cares…
