Hello, I want to ensure that this site, chadlewis.com , is the one site where REAL paranormal research is being discussed. The members of this message board will not just let folklore and urban legends slide. However, all paranormal activity in WI can be discussed and debated.

I look at the recent outrage over the Chad Lewis site by certain individuals as a sign of its continued success. I will try to address several inaccuracies that have been touted as fact by said individuals. As Terry previously mentioned in his last response, our intentions are not to “unmagicfie” Wisconsin’s past as many have stated. Our goal is simply to uncover the truth behind these cases in an effort to distinguish what is real from what may be urban legend or folklore.
I realize that numerous individuals have invested a lot of emotional energy into their belief systems. Often these belief systems become a salient point in their lives and the implications of having these belief systems challenged can have a profound impact on your emotional state. However, by blindly accepting information as fact because it can easily be assimilated into your belief system will not alter the truth.
All of us seek to resurrect the magic of our childhood when every unknown area baffled us with the uncertainty of its purpose. Throughout history, humankind has struggled to answer the same poignant questions that we are now asking ourselves, and I believe that it would be a grave disservice to revert back to the age of intellectual darkness in order to preserve the lore of our childhood.
Many individuals find that when someone’s research cannot be attacked, the only other option is to attack the researcher. The logic followed here states that if the researcher is tarnished then the research must also be tarnished. The underlying problem with this logic is that it is based on the assumption that the researcher will not defend his or her name. When this fallacy is exposed (someone stand up to the accusations) the attacker is left holding unsubstantiated claims.
I cannot in good faith still idly by when someone spews untruths and lies about my research or my integrity. I have been in this field for a long time now and I developed an extremely thick skin, however I have also developed a desire to continue fighting for my research and personal reputation. I will not allow propaganda to cloud the overall goal and intentions of this research.
1. Why are you marketing it and exploiting Wisconsin’s paranormal past for your own benefit?
- I have addressed this question too many times to recall. First the term “marketing” tends to be perceived as making money off of something. The idea that paranormal researchers (myself included) are getting rich from this research could not be more off target. The time, energy, equipment, travel, loss of personal time etc… justify themselves. 2. I hope you can cope with the spirits you've pissed off in limbo
- If spirits or ghosts do exist, then I am pretty confidant that they have other more pertinent issues to deal with than me “pissing” them off. 3. Is your plot, to "make people believe in the paranormal?”
- My “plot” is to present my research in an academic format that will hold up to intense scrutiny. If you opt to believe or disbelieve in something based on my research, that is your decision.
4. You have to get other people to find out what happened for you.
- I would like to know what specific information is on this website that was not gathered by Terry Fisk, Myself, or the few other people that help with the research. The research we have on our website was gathered first hand by our research team. We have even gone outside of what is considered appropriate research protocol by listing where the lead came from.

If you post a paranormal case, please try to give as much information as possible such as (where, date, time, specific description etc...)
This allows investigators to follow up on the case.
All cases are welcome !!!!
Thanks

Hey everyone I have a funny story about my recent Skunk Ape adventure in Florida.
In February, both Terry and myself were in Florida doing research for our new road guide. I was in the middle of the Everglades overlooking an open field keeping an eye out for the Skunk Ape. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted what appeared to be a cougar walk into a small wooded area. As I waited and watched from my base camp the creature did not leave the woods into the open field. I needed to get a closer look so I started walking down the small dirt path toward the wooded area. As I started to get close I heard something huffing at me from the inside trees. Now I was not certain as to what I had seen go into the woods. The area was filled with alligators, wild pigs (boars), panthers and possibly even the skunk ape.
I assessed the situation, no weapon, no phone, no medical help, and no escape plan, and while the huffs were getting louder, I decided to head back to my base camp and grab my vehicle and slowly ease my way down to the area to get a closer look. I quickly picked up the sound and slowly made my way to the woods. As the huffing got louder and more aggressive I braced myself for an attack of a pig or cougar, yet within seconds I could see that the scary dangerous huffing was nothing more than a deer. Needless to say I was glad no one else was there to witness me getting spooked by a small deer.
Keep an eye out, Chad Lewis

Here is an old WI newspaper article- you decide!
Destruction Of Sheep Mishicott - We learn from Mr. Julins Linstedt, one of our patrons in Mishicott, that the farmers in that town have had killed within the last six weeks two hundred and twenty- six sheep, and they have thus far been unable to find out what animal is doing the mischief, as they are all killed in one manner and left without any tearing of the carcass. There are no marks of violence except a small hole behind the ears, from which the blood is sucked, and the left otherwise in perfect shape.
The farmers are alarmed, fearing their entire stock will fall victim to this strange animal, which old hunters think must be a panther; and as the “Schutzenverein” are out to a man hunting , we have every reason to believe that some of those good marksman will succeed in killing the brute, whatever it proves to be. The Supervisors of the town held a meeting last Saturday, and offered a reward for the capture of the unknown animal. From the nature of the wound inflicted, we are inclined to believe it a species of bat, phyllostoma spectrum, or the vampire bat of New Spain. It is very rare, and may have escaped from some traveling menagerie.

I am going to be up in the Minnesota north woods this weekend searching for some Bigfoot activity. This weekend is opening weekend for MN deer hunters so I am hoping they can stir up any creatures lurking in the woods.

We just received an e-mail from a gentleman putting together a book on the locations of strange encounters and he is looking for witnesses of UFOs, crop circles, and strange creatures to show him the land so he can photograph the area. If you are interested please let us know.

I really like the stories and sightings of the Jersey Devil and I recommend the book Phantom of the Pines written by James F. McCloy and Ray Miller, Jr. The book does a great job on providing the history of the creature and some more recent sightings. This is one creature that I have not yet had the opportunity to go and pursue, yet I believe that it may be a worthwhile trip.

This is not the first time a kangaroo has been sighted in Wisconsin. Back in 1978, Kangaroo(s) were sighted near Waukesha, Pewaukee and Brookfield. Photos of the “kangaroo” were taken. Jay Rath has a good deal of information about this case in his book The W-Files.
Some even believe that there were Kangaroos sighted in Wisconsin back in the late 1890’s. However, this current case is much different than previous cases because they were finally able to catch the kangaroo. It is hard to debunk an eyewitness report, when you have the live creature in a zoo.
