I've been there.
Not in the past year or two, but sadly, what I hoped to find or feel... nothing at all.
It's a lovely building, that's for sure!

I've also been there!
I hate to say how long ago it was, but I was a part of a very "low budget" horror movie that was filmed there in the late 1970's (I was very, very young at the time!) - the movie was called "EXIT DYING" if anybody remembers it.
I didn't experience anything in the Grand Opera House, but I remember that others involved with the movie had some "interesting" experiences there.

it's a beautiful building and i havent been there. I also havent heard of any stories about this place being haunted. I also have learned over years that just because a place is historical doesnt mean it's haunted. it all depends if something happened there or someone from the past was so attached to the place or object that it may or may not be haunted. Also we all know that if a place that hasnt shown any type of paranormal activity it could all of sudden start up. if, someone starts to restore a place or start tearing down some walls it could cause paranormal activity.
Also the place could be haunted but no one has yet told their story. So until someone reports of a haunting we would have to say "the place isnt". ;D

"...Also during the filming of a movie based on a haunted theatre, the director saw Percy's ghost in the balcony smiling down at him..."
That's refering to the movie "Exit Dying" - and I was there when that occured, but I'm afraid I saw nothing and didn't learn of the experience until some time later.
"Shadowlands" doesn't quite have it right, though...the filming was over and it was several months later - the movie was "screened" for the first time for the cast, crew and some "notable VIP's" like local reporters, etc.
The director was up on the stage thanking everybody for their participation and all of that - he had a "pre-screening" type of speech all prepared and....
now - this is the director's story - keep that in mind - I was sitting there in the audience at the time and I didn't see anything or notice the director act "oddly" or anything....
but he claims that he finished his speech and asked for the lights to be turned down and the film to roll and he looked up into the balcony and saw who he believes must have been "Percy" leaning on the railing and smiling at him. Then the lights went out...
I've also read that he claims that he had the lights turned back on instantly and the man in the balcony was gone...however, I don't recall him having the lights turned back on.

Isn't Lorraine Warren part of the psychic husband and wife team that investigated the Amityville Horror House?

Sorry cadavermangler,
I should have read your link before I posted. I recently saw a documentery on the real story behind the Amityville Horror, and the Warren's were featured. It looks like it will be very interesting, enjoy.
