Has anyone ever heard of the Burma Swamp Monster? I grew up in Freedom WI which is about 5-10 Miles from Five Corners near Black Creek. Both of these towns are right next to Burma Swamp. This was one of the first ledgends I heard of as a child. I have been to Burma Swamp several times but have never actually heard anything about the Monster aside from the name "Burma Swamp Monster". I kind of doubt it's existence, unless it is somehow supernatural, the whole swamp is only several square miles, not too large. Burma Swamp is a creepy place, I can see how legends could form. Has anyone else ever been to Burma Swamp or heard of the Burma Swamp Monster?

Here is a photo taken yesterday in Burma Swamp. It wasn't as scary in the winter. One of the most eerie things when you drive through is that there is water everywhere on the sides of the road that the trees grow out of. You couldn't see it with the snow. It was kind of creepy with all the fog though.

Thats the problem I have never heard any of the tales. All I remember is when I was a little kid I would hear the term "Burma Swamp Monster". Never actally heard that it actually existed. I grew up about 5 miles from the swamp. To get there you take Ballard Rd North out of appleton, its probably about 10 miles (right past Five Corners). You'll know when your there. Also, like I said, it is better in the summer. So if you go and its not that exciting, make sure to go back in the summer.
