So last night my boyfriend and i went to find one of Al Capone's houses. We went looking for the one on the southside of chicago {7244 South Prairie Avenue]. I sat in the car as my BF ran across the street and up the stairs of the home where the once Crime Boss lived. He stood there for a moment and then ran back to the car saying "That's was really creepy". I asked what he meant and he said "when I walked up the stairs of the home I felt like something was there with alot of POWER. Like someone was there and I felt like that person was very-very strong and the present was still there". I said "Well in Capone's days he was the "all power" and why wouldnt that present still be there?" I wonder if that home is haunted. has anyone heard of that place having ghosts? Also that place is currently up for sale to the higher's bitter....feel free to buy it lol ;D Oh and he's buried in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois [chicago suburb]...anyone ever been there? I read online that people tend to place cigars, flowers, a coin or two or even a bottle of alcohol placed on top of the stone oh and he has a Museum which i want to go to!!! i will keep you posted if i do go but, here's the link to the site: www.alcaponemuseum.com/

That was a cool story!
I believe you can do a "Gangster Tour" through Chicago, that will take you to several of the old places that were hideouts for a lot of those guys (Capone, Dillinger, Nelson, etc). It'll take you past places, such as hideouts, the Biograph Theater (where Dillinger was killed), the site of the St Valentine's Day Massacre, and other places. I'm wanting to take the tour next time I have some extensive free time in the Windy City.
