I was wondering if anyone knew of any haunted places in the southern part of Wisconsin, like Madison, Platteville, and other places in that area.

Yeah I'm from Cuba City. None of my friends or I could ever find the coffee can forest. I have heard multiple of different places that it could be. That house near the mound is like in someone's backyard so I don't think anyone can go there.

Have you thought about Sanitarium Hill in Madison? That always is a good one,or the cemetery where Chris Farley is buried is rumored to be haunted....Or you could buy the Roadgide to haunted locations!!!!!!! there's a bunch in there!! (Sorry i couldnt resist!!)

Coffee can woods is on the right, going toward D-ville-on 151 it's right near the trailer park. There is a good selection of newspaper articles in the Historic room in the library at UW-Platteville on the account.Remember they still haven't found the can with the head in it. The farm is at the base of the M-mound the house was last being used as a hay barn, and it's actually not to far off the road, LImestone building.

Do you know if I could find any of these articles online?
So is this house by the mound on that road right before the mound? I think you turn right at the stop sign or something? Or are we talking about the same house?

There are two mounds with letters on them, the large M mound a much smaller one , it's near this and Yes it is the right turn, the road will eventually lead you to the First Capital park site, and Belmont.

As for the articles , I don't know they are from the 1800's I believe, it's been along time since I was at the Library there in Platteville, and at that time it was on micro film. Yup that many years.

So is the house by the big m or the smaller one? I didn't know there were two mounds. Do you by any chance have a picture of the house? Because if we're talking about the same house I don't know if you're able to go to it or not.
Can you give me any more information on the coffee can woods so I can research or try to find stuff on it?

the house by "the mound" in Platteville is the sight of what's been called "The Nodolf Incident" - and I know there is a book called "Wisconsin Lore" that describes it. The website called "The W-Files" has an excellent write-up about it here: www.w-files.com/files/ab1881.htmbut you can find it mentioned on a lot of other "internet sites" that have a "paranormal theme" ....the way it's told in "Wisconsin Lore" is more of an "alien abduction" story, but it seems to have morphed into a ghost story over the years. Read some of the comments on this site: www.ghostsofamerica.com/5/Wisconsin_Platteville_ghost_sightings.html(it's got pictures of the house on there, too!) - but you can see, those people are basically telling the same story, they've just altered the details into a "haunting" ..... but I've never heard anything about that "Coffee Can Woods" thing.... Can somebody give an explanation of that? (or find a website that explains it?)
