This story dates back to the late 60's, on a farm near Stephenson MI. My mother had come home for a weekend and was volunteered to help babysit her younger siblings for an evening. Mom was in her early 20's. Grandma and Grandpa were out quite late and everyone was asleep in the house. Mom came down for a drink of water. As she turned on the faucet, she noticed a glowing light-show coming from one of the southeast fields. She pulled back the curtain to reveal what she describes as a triangular aircraft with lights (green, blue and red) spinning very fast around the craft. This was NOT a reflection of lights from near towns or cities...the farm was several miles from any populated town. Mom says she got very scared, ran upstairs to the kids room and sat awake petrified until my grandparents came home. She did not ever mention it to anyone because she thought they would think she was crazy. Now skip to 1989, my aunt, one of the youngest in the family was spending Christmas with us. We were watching Unsolved Mysteries when a UFO segment came on. My aunt proceded to talk about strange lights at this old farm she had lived on as a child. For the next hour my mom and she compared stories and memories about the place. My aunt stated that she not only had seen a strange craft there many times, but had also witnessed something in the barn. She was only about 8 at the time, and says she and the other siblings were playing hide and seek. She hid in the barn and says she was the only one that hid in the barn that time. (not the cow barn, but a hay barn) She could hear the counter counting and the other kids scrambling for their hiding spots. Out of a corner, up in the loft, my aunt heard rustling. Thinking it was birds or mice, she didn't worry. It was evening and the shadows were growing. She claims that something very large, too large for a farm cat or dog, started to climb out onto the rafters to the center of the barn. This was NOT a shadow and it made movement sounds as it moved. She says she watched it, knowing that this was not normal. It had legs and arms that pulled itself forward. Because it was getting darker she couldn't tell the details but says it definately acted more human that animal-like. She could tell this was not a man or a woman, it moved too quickly. She estimated it to be about the size of grandma (she stood only 4'11") My aunt got scared and ran out of the barn screaming. Grandpa investigated and found nothing, but it was a few minutes for whatever it was to hide or get away. My aunt says she thinks whatever it was was not from this earth. She says it corresponded with a sighting of mysterious lights two nights before. Because she was so young, no one really believed her, and grandma told her not to talk about it. Years later, talking to more of the siblings at reunions and gatherings revealed that some of the 12 children would talk about lights seen at that farm, and others say they never saw a thing. Mostly it was just seeing a craft of some sort in the field with green, blue and red lights going very fast around it. The kids ranged at that time from age 4 to the mid 20's.
