Was just there less than a month ago, end of June maybe. Infinity room was worth it. Watch out for the coin operated music boxes and organs and such, some dont work. You might have to use something like a key to get your coin back or someone else will. Also, the Weapons room or Gun room. Dont know if they fixed the problem or not, but there was water leaking from the top of the cabinet to the floor and some of the old powder guns and there old historic boxes were getting some water damage. I hope they fixed that problem.

My Family and I were there in September--I was somewhat disapointed you could say. Like the above poster has said, Thing's were out of order etc. Other than that it is alway's a wonderful experience! =) There are thing's that freak me out there of course, The Doll Room alway's send's chill's down my spine! Eeek. The Carosel, I have never been to sure about either. Something about it I guess. The price has sure went up too over the Year's, It's still worth it but man!.....I hope they can contiune to keep it open, It doesn't seem like it is pulling in as many customer's, or Tourist's anymore. =( Such a cool place!!

my fiancee and I went there at the end of September as well. She is somewhat sensetive to paranormal things, and she got the impression some of the dolls had evil or demonic things in them, because they were stationary things that always have lots of people going by and they were creepy, and they were a good place to feed off peoples fear etc. Who knows, definetly an awsome place though.

Weird, I alway's have got a errie feeling from Doll's, Probably not like the feeling that your finace get's but definatly something, I get a un-easy feeling around them. That is probably the reason I sold most of my China Dolls awhile back. There are certain room's at House on the Rock that make me feel "Enclosed".....

working there at night would send chill's down my spine! I have alway's wondered what it would be like at night in a place like that? Especially alone?!? Was your friend ever alone in there at night? The other area there that has alway's weirded me out for whatever reason, Is that area that is like a old town, With the brick like road etc.....Something about that is just unsettling to me. eeeeek.

I have been to the house on the rock also. You know when we where there, I got the strangest feeling also.Being so high up when you walk onto the sky bridge thing just does not give me a secure feeling. The whole place had some really nice stuff, but I thought about why they built that place on a rock?and could there be hidden tunnels and such in that rock they built on.Wouldn't that be something if there was a secret tunnel to some forbidden place. Not to mention why anyone would want to collect all that stuff.Sure they are rich, but is there something else under the blanket with that place.I personally don't even like going there anymore. It's like that house of plastic figurings in WI Dells.I saw a movie about something years back and ever since, I don't like that place either. Someone told me the Dells House of Plastic People has it's own spooks. They can keep them.

Intresting enough, I have also heard of a few places in the Dells that are haunted--Or at least people have claimed in the past to have seen or heard thing's. The old "Haunted House" on the main drag in the Dells has been reported as being haunted in the past. I don't think it is still a haunted house though, Thing's have changed so much there in the past few year's alone.
But back to the House on the Rock, I have probably been there a total of 7-8 time's in my life so far, And each and everytime something else trigger's my fear, I can never pin point what it is and some of it might be that as I get older the thing's that were once "cool" to me as a kid are now spooking me. All the little door's you go through during the tour give me the creeps to be honest, The doll room, like I mentioned before give's me the whilly's as well. This year when we went the big carosel really gave me a scare, I stood right up next to it. (well as close as you can get to it at least) And caught myself staring off into the light's and creature's going round and round. Weird! The other thing in that room that really give's me a bad feeling are all the manican's (sp?) hanging from the ceiling. Eeeks.
Your comment about the secret tunnel's etc is very intresting, I would wonder that myself. I have no idea why on earth someone would want to collect so many thing's either? Oddly enough the man who construced house on the rock, Alex Jordan was a bit of a odd man himself. None the less it is alway's a intresting place to visit regardless of the errie thing's. We took our 4 Year old there this last time we went, And he just think's that it is the coolest place with all that stuff, I wonder if his opnion will change as he get's older, As did mine?

Einstein -- the Dells House of Plastic People? Meaning, when there was the Wax World there? I go to the Dells often, and do not live close (few hours across the state) and once felt a little watched at Wax World, years ago, but shrugged it off. I could even see the passages where employees watched for people to go thru -- it was that bad.Dungeon of Horrors -- what a laughing matter! I mean, I was really expecting more, with them at the newer location. And my son and I walked thru and laughed most of the time, it was that pathetic. Way too commercialized, in my opinion. House on the Rock, I have not been to in about 15 years. Never, ever thought anything was strange. Just incredible and beautiful. I would like to go back there again, some day... soon. Just to see the collections and beauty of it all... Yeah,I just don't feel very good walking through a place with wax people staring at me....gives me the creeps. It kind of reminds me, when we where younger I remember going through a ride at a carnival and the hand would hit you as you went through a dark tunnel...Untril one time me and my brother went through again and it broke off the wall...Wow!was the guy mad at the end door to the exit, when we gave him that arm with the fake hand on it. :)We could not help that it broke off. That's like that place in WI Dell's, I would freak if one of those plastic people would move. Anyway, I heard it was haunted. You know I don't feel that way in any Big museums, because they have a more securety guards/camaras and real time experts and such, around keeping watch and it's controlled, where carnivals and places like Dells is not as much.I think ever since 911 they are getting tougher with hireing and such in case of unlawful activities. I am also glad they are doing more back round checks also of their workers.

The Wax Muesum's alway's gave me a creepy feeling-I did not think there was anything haunting about them, But more just weird. The Wax places around here in no way compare to the one we visited in Las Vegas! Now that is a place that will give you the creep's! It's even more creepy as they have the room where all the wax people are made, Showing video's etc on the process, Cool, But creepy at the same time-I sat next to Elvis for a picture..And I was thinking the whole time, He better not reach out and touch me!!! It's a weird feeling to have them all around you, And it alway's seem's that they are looking at you-Then again, That could also be the Human eye playing tricks!!

When I would walk thru Wax World, and it was often for a while... as for paying homage to a few favorite people/characters there, that are no longer alive... I would stand and stare and thoughts would cross my mind like "does it tick you off that someone made a tacky sculpture of you, and it makes you look dead and pasty faced"? kind of thing...
I loved to look at the Wizard of Oz ones... but for how horrible they made Dorothy, I would stand and stare and sometimes laugh, in pity... the Princess Diana once was horrible (where she was dancing with John Travolta). So there I would stand, with wax sculpture eyes on me, and I would pick them apart, on how horribly they were done up.
Had Wax World been there the past two years, would have I gone? No. I have not been there in maybe 4 years, as it was getting to be the same old, same old. I did go to the gift shop and look and buy, but not the museum.
And then with the new place "Wizard Quest", we did go last year. Tried to do the challenge. Lots of people and whiny kids. I found the displays fascinating. But with back spasms and crawling thru the net tunnels and stuff... and other places to go, like the cemetery on the main highway? I probably won't be back there for a while (meaning Wizard Quest, owned by the same company that owns Wax World).
So there you have it. I got sick and tired of the same old, the fake and tacky appearances of the scupltures, and I have resorted to the railroad (R&GN), Starbuck's, Pirate's Cove mini golfing and... a very old cemetery that is really incredible...
