Say Chad and Terry, remember what I told you about the Fox lake, Lake Villa area and the Mineola hotel now a dinner hall and Marine ? I am ready for a ghost hunt! You have got to see that place!Route 83 is where the Old bank owner had that building the motor cycle guys burned down 30 + years ago.I can show ya my old home too!Indian Joe owned that place and it was during the olden days. That is across ed from the Mineola motel.. I will bet they don't have that in their book. Here is a picture of what the place once looked like years ago. But when, I lived there it was just an old beat up building that no-one used anymore. www.epodunk.com/cgi-bin/genInfo.php?locIndex=6151Chad, Check your personal message,I sent you more on the motel for your refrence, from a different writer of this motels hauntings. Here is just another little bit on the Mineola motel and that lost stolen gold I meantioned about. www.dailyherald.com/special/crossingcenturies/5a/34rest.asp

I see that in Wonder lake, they made a cemetery right where I lived when I was young...The people who lived in back of us where considered witches and everyone where afraid of them.If you knew, what we knew about those people, it would freak you out. They had these high fences and Sculley looking things that where on posts and no-trespassing signs or else!...all around the yard and when I jumped over to get a ball,a old lady came after me in this long ugly dress, head covered up and she sounded like a witch and came after me with a pitch fork and the cops did not even want to talk with them. They thought they where weird also.I will have to ask my brother if he remembers what their name was.We never felt comfortable with them near our back yard.Thats one of the reasons my folks got our first German Shepard from the police..He was an actual "partially trained" police dog ...Thats true too!We where good friends with the police down there at that time.

That house in wonder lake is the place we had the ball of light come through the house after our house got struck by lighting and blew all the plugs out and the T.V. too.It was very scary.. the ball of light just floated over us as my mom was holding us, it came out of the T.V. which we thought was strange about a half hour after the t.v. was struck......and she said don't try to catch it.The man outside said stand in the middle of the house and don't touch anything. We asked the guys who where working on the electrical outside and they did not know what it was.The weather man figured it was a tornado that came through as there was damage from wind also, then finally we got to hear the weather on the radio. My brother can tell you about that day too..We where all there when it happened.I don't know if that was a orb..it moved very slow.As an extra note ..We also felt an earthquake at that house and in the same area saw our first Meteorite shower which threw hundreds of lights down from the sky at one time in just a few minuts to an hour,it was a specific shower that was seen by many people..I believe this is also in the archives of the Illinoise papers.Way back in the early 1960's.Thats one reason I like to study meteorites. If you don't belive in ball lighting, read these other messages from this sight, It is much like what we went through that day. I think there is something to it. www.amasci.com/weird/unusual/bl.html

Crooked lake Illinoise, there is a place called "The White Feather Indian Cub..."It was a real meeting place for Indian tribes..They would have pow wows and fire dancing and all sorts of cool tribal doings. The building was said to be haunted..The neighbor claimed a certain song would play by itself sometimes when no-one was there. The Indians folks would tell us stories about it's hauntings, they said they where Indian spirits and they talked with them.We lived right by it and always went there. It still stands now. as of 2006,though I don't know who owns it anymore.

I've seen Ball lightening twice...shared the B Jesus outta me both times. First time it came out of the utility room at the end of a carport during a storm, burnt a hole in the insulation in the wall. Second time was in the car creeping at 4-5 mph in a tornado and it struck at the rt front end of the car, looked like a roman candle shooting balls out of the ground. Mother Nature is quite interesting!

Anyone been to haunted places around the McHenry/Crystal Lake area? House with no corners (Stickney Mansion) is a popular one, along with the Algonquin cemetery where I cought this pretty neat photo:
