Chad and I will soon be visiting the Sunshine State in search of its many haunted locations. If any of you know of some noteworthy spots, tell us about it. We would also be interested in hearing about any Florida ghost tours you may have taken.

You probably wouldn't be able to investigate this place, but you could easily visit it. ;D In the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, their Pirates of the Caribbean attraction is supposedly haunted by a ghost named George. He supposedly died while a pillar fell on him in the burning city scene of the ride. If you ask any of the cast members about him, they will probably know what you are talking about. If the cast members don't say "Good Morning George" in the morning or "Good night" at closing, the attraction will go haywire the next day. Also, even though it's fitting, the Haunted Mansion in the Magic Kingdom is also supposedly really haunted. Guests have seen a small boy running around the ballroom and attic scenes. Guests would then tell a cast member when they got off. They would check, and no one would be there. Also, a "man with a cane and top hat" is sometimes scene in the doombuggies (what you sit in to ride) at the exit. The Cast members would tell him to get up and out, but he wouldn't pay attention and just keep riding through. The Cast members would then telephone the entrance cast members to say a man was riding through (as there is just about 15 seconds of the attraction going from exit to entrance) but no one would end up riding through on the doombuggies. Anyways, those are the main two stories. I recommend just visiting anyways for fun. The Haunted Mansion just went through a 4 month refurb, and it's now really excellent!!

There is also the St. Augustine Light House!!! I think that one really is haunted. When TAPS did there investigation they got some really good things there. Like a shadow going up the stairs and TAPS would chase the thing but when they get to the top there is no one there, and the doors are pad locked! The story behind it is that the Construction Manager when it was built moved his whole family to live there and since there was no way to get the supplies from the water to the tower they built a mining track to bring the supplies up and his 3 girls liked to ride in them all the way down and one day they were riding in a cart and the brakes failed and they went straight into the water and 2 of them drowned and that is supposedly who is in the tower along with a woman saying "hello" or "help me". Also in the house that is attached there has been some activity also where there is conversations that can be heard. It is really quite neat!!!!
Good luck on your investigations!!!

If you want a real haunted place, tack a side trip to Savannah, Georgia. Go to the Sorrel Weed House. T.A.P.S did an investigation there and came up with a lot of evidence. Voices in the Carriage house, and in the main house. even some shadows. If you ever go it is located at 6 West Harris Street. This is not my writing, it is writing from another person. I do not know his/her name, so if you are the writer i am really sorry. "The Sorrel Weed House is located at 6 West Harris Street in Savannah, Georgia. The Sorrel Weed House was built in 1840 by Charles B. Cluskey, a well known architect in Savannah. The house is a great example of Greek revival architecture. It was designated as a state landmark in 1953, and it is also a National Trust Historic Landmark. It was home to General Gilbert Moxley Sorrel, the youngest General in the Confederate States of America. It was also visited by General Robert E. Lee (1862) and General William T. Sherman (1864). Not only does the house have an impressive history, but it is also supposedly haunted. In October 2005 the home was featured on the TV show Ghost Hunters, on the Sci-Fi channel. Their investigation was a success; they captured enough evidence to convince them that the house is indeed haunted. One of the best things they caught at the house was an EVP recording of a woman screaming "Get out, Get out...Help me, my God, my God." While no one is exactly sure who haunts the house, it is believed the spirits could be a former slave who died at the house, or Francis Sorrel's wife who killed herself by jumping from the second floor porch. In October 2007 I received an e-mail from Ruby Lawson with an observation regarding one of my photos: In the picture of of the portrait of Mr. Sorrel; if you look to the right of his picture, you can see another soldier - you can see the face and the buttons on the uniform. Also, if you look at his right hand (left side of the picture) you can see another man, a possible soldier, with his back turned to you. I don't know if you noticed these or not."

I know of a place!
Just a mile down the road from my house, actually, it's a relatively small cemetery, but I've heard a few people say there's a ghost there. I was there one night, you know, just to get away from my family, and I sat down on one of those decorative benches and this voice behind me said "visiting hours are over" I turned around and no one was there!
The place is on a road between Lakeland and the plant city line, near Medulla road, it's called County line road. It's sort of a t-junction, but it's far removed from downtown, it would be peacefull if not for late night traffic. Strangely, the sounds don't carry far.
Hope to see you soon!

Have you ever heard of the devil tree in port saint lucie? Its said that if you touch or go near the devil tree you will hear and see ghosts that try to chase you away. Port St. Lucie - Oak Hammock Park - The Devil Tree - Oak Hammock Park is a local hangout for fishermen and boaters along the C-24 Canal. On January 8th, 1973, long before the park was built, the deranged serial killer beat, raped, hung, then buried 2 girls beneath the "Devil Tree". Over the next few days he returned to commit lewd acts to the bodies. In January 1977, almost 4 years to the day that the murders were committed, two fishermen discovered the skeletal remains of the two bodies, and the hanging ropes were also found. Over the years people have reported hearing screaming, and seeing hooded figures walking around the woods. In 1993 an exorcism was held, and a cross was erected, after two boys claimed to have seen a Satanic ritual taking place near the tree, and being chased away by the Satanists who yelled that they wanted their blood. Before the park was built, they were going to cut down the tree, but their chainsaws kept malfunctioning in the area surrounding the tree. They tried to cut down the tree manually with a two-man saw, but the teeth of the saw broke off, so they left the tree where it was. Port St. Lucie - Oak Hammock Park - When you walk down the trail it gets very cold. Weird noises come from the girls bathroom. It sounds like someone slamming the stall door. When you go in there no one will be there. Weird things appear in pictures. _______________ That should give you a little more info on THE DEVIL TREE above. I run a mustang based website and each year we do what we like to call a "NIGHTMARE MUSTANG CRUISE" out to a haunted location. Back in 2006, Our first ever NMC was to THE DEVIL TREE in question...We took a bunch of pics got some orbs...Had a car alarm go off while video taping in the girls bathroom which was odd because there was no one out by the cars at that time but heres a video of our trip to THE DEVIL TREE if anyone is interested in watching it. www.motorsportmustangs.com/banners/Vids/Nightmare1.wmv
