ok well you've probally have read this kind of questions a bunch of times but what does an ouija board exactly do?? like i know it comunicates with the dead or whatever but what else? and i know it may open doors that are hard to close but what else? what are its con's and pro's? and please don't say "don't use it! it'll open bad doors!!" or whatever cause im not stupid! i know it'll be something bad, all i want to know what does an ouija board do? Also i just found out when i was watching a haunting this afternoon that when you use an ouija board and you actually communicate with the dead you should never burn the ouija board! why? Carrie

I saw that one too. Don't know about the 'not burning' thing, but I do know this much - ouija boards let you talk to spirits. I wouldn't recommend doing this, mostly because you don't know who you're talking to. There is nothing about the darn things that say spirits can't lie through them, and I wouldn't trust it if they did.

Time to share my story! ;D "The Clrset Ghost"
I've used a Ouija board before (but don't use it anymore) - not from something happeneing to me, but just from people saying "don't use it!". And figured I didn't want to risk anything anymore (even if there is anything to risk...)
So me and my cousin used it once when we were having a Halloween party. It was just us two in my bedroom. Well, we used and we wanted it do "show itself" to us to prove that the Ouija Board has something actually behind it. Here's the script that we actually had... (we wrote it down). Q: May we contact any spirits? A: Yes Q: What is your name? A: H and more random letters (I have never been able to get good names with anything) Q: Can you do something for us tonight? A: Yes Q: How will you prove you are here? A: Ghost Q: Can we talk to you after dinner? A: Yes - At this point we took about a 45 min break since we had to go and eat. Q: Are you still there? A: Yes Q: What time are you going to do something? A: 645 (the time currently was about 5:30) Q: Where will we see it? A: Clrset (which we figured was 'closet') Q: Are you sure? A: Yes
So... it's about 5:45 now. We had an hour to prepair. We took my clock, hooked it up in my closet so we could monitor the time on our digital video camera, which we set up on my desk, facing the closet door which we opened in my bedroom. Also, just incase clrset was a bad spelling of chair, we wheeled my desk chair on over to the closet. We weren't going to miss this opportunity under any circumstances!
6:00 It was a party we were having, so we went to play a pool game to pass the time. ;D
6:30 We put the disk in our digital video camera. We turned off the lights and we prepaired the final touches. We put some orange candle lights on in the room so we had at least some light. My drapes were closed. It was already dark outside since this was in October. It's 6:40 and we are going to roll the camera for 10 minutes. We start it and leave the room.
I'm going to finish this story up in a new post so it isn't too long.

"The Clrset Ghost" Part 2 So... we left the room and guarded my door to make sure no one else in our house messed with anything and just to listen. Maybe we would hear something. 6:49 Almost done when we hear some banging. Could this be the Clrset Ghost? We're not sure, but I have a hunch it's not. We run down the stairs. (My room is on the second floor, and there is a window facing out to my front yard). My cousin exits out the front door, and I run to our garage door. Just as I expected, it's my dad (whose a non-believer). He had a stick he was hitting on my window with to make the banging noise to try to scare us. What I'm glad of is that we actually stoped him, so we can throw that evidence out. Time to check the room, as it is now 6:50. We enter. It doesn't look like anything happened, so we pack up and take the video downstairs to view on the TV. We hook it up and begin watching. Sure enough, at 6:42 according to the clock, and orb whizzes by and disappears into the closet. I've studied the film with my Pinnacle editing system, and can't find any solution for it. Now I know, orbs can be just told off as "dust or bugs", but Just seeing that blob of "light" at that time... That would be some coincidence! Having never had a ghost experience before or seeing one my myself (not on camera), I can't say much, but I don't think it was dust or bugs. What it was, I have no idea... but, being a believer before this even, I can say it was fun to catch something! So that's my story! Post if you have more questions!!!

I would never buy one from ebay, because it might have bad past spirits from someone else. I would sage the air or incense the air with the board in the same room to get rid of past spirits.

My teacher did a study of those, he said that like 98% of people in insane asylums used a board at one point in there lives, those boards are dangerous.

iz it true that if u really burn a ouija board, that a demonic spirit can really enter your home or wherever you played it? i really am curious about that part.

I have used Ouija boards for years and worked with others. You can attract negative spirits if your not careful and in rare instances they may hang around even when you are not using the board. But burning a board will not cause them to enter your home.

Hi, I am from Wisconsin and from what I've seen with quija boards is that they are nothing to mess with, growing up in a christian home I was never allowed to have contact with one (which was a good thing) but I watched friends do it and what I can tell you is it creeped me out, they seemed to get answers to questions even specific names but keep in mind we are talking about a handfull of 13 year old girls asking it who they would marry etc. so they could have been moving it themselves, I think they are more for contacting spirits than getting your fourtune read. I do think it is possible for them to work weather its a fancy expensive one, a milton Bradly one from walmart or simply a glass on a tablecloth with letters and numbers on the cloth.. its the idea of it not what its made out of, and also I think you need to be near spirits for it to work, you can't sit on your couch and talk to grandma with it. Being a christian I don't believe however that we can talk to our passed on relatives, with na quija ..if they are in heaven there in heaven, I believe they can contact us but not through a device like that. if they are in hell thats another story but I wouldn't put faith that a spirit claiming to be uncle ed, or grandpa is who they say they are and theres been too many stories about people using them and then winding nup with a haunted house or a demon infestation and I dont think Orkin can fix that. Bottom line stay away from them, at least thats my opinion.

i tried to make my own ouija board once... and (surprise, surprise) NOTHING happened!!!!! i think that if you are going to use on you should buy it, not make one. they never work. but i also agree with ladyshadows... i've heard too many stories of people using them being haunted for the rest of their life.... i'd say stay away. i used it once just for something to do, but i won't use one again. one of my friends mom used one when she was a little girl, and she won't even tell my friend what it said. apparently a lot of weird things happened in her house, and as soon as they through the board away everything went back to normal

i made one too. i think i was in 8th grade (long time ago) and it didnt work. but neither did the one i bought from the store. but it was fun pushing it around and scareing my friends.
i had the one i made up until i was out of high school. but i think it was stolen by one of my friends. everyone was always so fascinated with it. it was a piece of wood and some paint.
