Does anyone know of any other good places that are haunted in the southern/central Wisconsin area. If anyone has any ideas please comment. I am looking for places like 1.5 hours north or south of madison or ANYWHERE in the southern/central Wisconsin area. Just comment if you have anything I don't care where it's at or what it is. I just need some places since I couldn't find much on my own. Thanks

There is a lot of information in the other Sanitarium Hill thread. I would recommend the sites listed above and the other thread. You can also find information in the book "Ghosts of Madison". I can tell you that the spirits there are pretty evil from what I have heard. Also there is not a cemetary in the woods (I have searched the whole woods, it is not very big). There is a cement slab out in the woods, but I am not sure what that building was for. I know it has a ramp. I don't know why they would have made a small building in the middle of the woods wheelchair accessable back then. I like to think that this is where they used to burn the bodies of those who had tuburculosis. I will try to take some pictures of the ruins in the woods next time I get out there. I do know more if you have more specific questions, Let me know. It's pretty scary at night in the woods. Yeah tell me everything you know about the place like what's so scary about the woods and why is it haunted. And about the cemetery, I thought that people have said that they've been to it, idk? It sounds pretty interesting and I would like to check it out some time since I'm only 1.5 hours from Madison. So if you could just tell me everything you know about it.

I'm not totally sure but is the actual building haunted or just the cemetery? And how far is the cemetery from the building?

Yeah thanks I've already looked at these but I was just wondering if anyone else had anything more. Is this building still open and running then?

I came home from college a couple weeks ago for a few days to visit. My friend's and I are always going to scary places around where I live. This time my friends girlfriend told us about an abandoned house along with a barn that she went to. She told us the story of the place. I don't know if it's true or not but the story was something about a gypsy that had two husbands (I'm guessing she was having an affair). The one husband found out and killed the other one and I don't remember what happened to him. Then the gypsy person found out and hung herself in the barn next to the house. Then supposedly there was construction going on in this area and they dug up some remains of people. Again, I have no idea wtf happened or if this is a true story or not. But I would like to know if there is some truth to this or what really happened if anything. So after hearing this we decided to go to this place. It's between Galena and East Dubuque, on the way to Dubuque, IA. They are doing construction on the highway, so if you take a right at the stop lights on the way to Dubuque and follow the road you should find the house and the barn. The road is really crappy and is filled with a bunch of small rocks and a little stream that you have to pass in order to get to the house. However, a couple of friends and I did indeed go to this place. When you get there you get a weird eerie feeling. The house is abandoned and falling apart. My friend's gf and I were the only ones brave enough to go inside the house. As you open the door you see a ouija board sitting on a table right in front of the door. It's pretty F@$!%d up. But for some reason I wasn't feeling it that night lol and we didn't go in any further. Then it was time to check the barn out. My friend's girl said that the noose was still in the barn from when the gypsy hung herself. So she and I went to check it out. But as we were walking toward it we heard a something and we all got the hell out of there. I don't know why we were scared this night. We've been to many places like this before and didn't have any problems. So scared out of our minds we left and went home. But unfortunately when we got home we heard the bad news that the noise we heard was actually the sound of one of my friends throwing a rock at the barn. They were just being stupid and trying to scare us (I thought it sounded like a rock hitting a barn??? lol) I was kind of disappointed lol but anyways I'm gonna go check it out again and be man and explore the whole place the next time I am home. So if anyone has any idea what happened at this place, has any info, or has any idea what it could be please let me know thanks.

thanks to tritne for the explanation - but like andes11, I can't find anything at all about this story online, either... I've tried just googling stuff like "haunting near Platteville, WI" and phrases like that - then I moved on to: "Man dismembers wife near Platteville, WI" and basically ever other way I could come up with to state it....I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING AT ALL ABOUT EVIL MR COFFEE!!!! ....hummmmm.....wait a minute..... ok - no. I just tried "EVIL MR COFFEE" and I don't even want to talk about what that brings up.... anyway, nothing about coffee can woods! Yeah I know man it's nowhere on the internet. I guess you'll have to research it at the UWP library like she said. I would really like to go there since I'm from this area. Let me know if you find anything.
